Kevin says Crush is coming

Fascinating, really fascinating. I just don't get it. There are some attractions in other parks, especially Journey to the Center of the Earth from TDS and Indiana Jones Adventure from DL that I am just DYING for to see them finally in WDW or some brillant designs by the imagineers like Fire Mountain and they always go with the least interesting addition where there is already at least one or even more attractions. We have Nemo in EPCOT, we have it in DAK, so why do they add another nemo attraction?

I agree with you. I mean any new ride at mgm is good in my opinion but we already have enough nemo. And its worse to know about the low capacity, there's gotta be something better they could put in.

The reason is fairly simple:

least interesting addition = less capital required

Say what you want about Crush, his coaster is hands down one of the coolest rides Disney has ever done. Rode it in 2008 and 2009. Killer ride and theming. In 08, it was 101 for part of the day but I happened to be nearby when it reopened. Painfully slow load. 09 visit, the load went really well. Comparable to TSMM or RNRC. Kiddie roller coaster it is not. Super fun.

I vote for a Monster's Inc. spinning coaster. Same concept as CC but with MI theming.
Wouldn`t work. The only way the WDSP coaster gets away with it is the bubble / water projection theme in the main show building. Aside from that only a space flight would get the same effect with star projections. And they kind of have a few of those already.

A kiddy coaster, how exciting.

Crush is most certainly not a kiddy coaster. Dark, free spinning inversions- I've been to DLP and WDW (2x) in the last year, rode SM2, SM, RNR, Everest- and I think I preferred CC because of the free-spinning innovation. Never rode anything like it before or since. Lines are insane (up to an hour, which for DLP is suck), but there was no FP.

Granted, the first 2 minutes are tame compared to the rest of the ride, but it's not like the new Nemo ride in Living Seas.

I enjoy reading Kevin's work, I have one of his books, but he doesn't have the in company sources that some others have. His posts are largely speculative, but he's a very smart guy so it's not like he's pulling things out of thin air.

As other insiders on here have intimated, Crush seemed to have at least been considered for this location but it's not the current plan.

Ok i can't go into detail besides that the rumor backstage is that it isn't a new attraction at all, but rather testing for updates for other aspects of the parks, and that whatever it is, the Imagineers are keeping there mouths shut. If you so much as sneeze in the direction of soundstage one alarms will go off. Whatever it is, they don't want anyone to know]
Ok i will add that this update will effect all four parks if it is true

Yeah I believe this is exactly how the present Disney management thinks about expansion. Walt is already dead for a long time and the last staff members of his generation have died away or have retired.
Sometime I imagine which way the parks would have gone if he would have lived 30 more years. Hal Roach reached an age of 100! Imagine what Walt could have done with only 30 more years! (not to talk about 40 more years) I am absolutely sure, that "the World" would have become much better than it is even today.

The World that we know would not fully exist at all.

There would be Disneyland Florida (Magic Kingdom) and the EPCOT city.

EPCOT could have been Walt's ultimate folly- or so say think. Nothing would have been the same- at all.

I don't believe that Walt would have stopped after building EPCOT, it would have been the exact opposite of his character. I am sure he would have added and plussed a lot in MK but he wouldn't have stopped after MK and EPCOT. I mean, please, he buys such a really huge area and then all he does with it, is building one (small) theme park, some hotels around Seven Seas Lagoon, some golf courses, a small city and that's it? No way.
It would be fascinating to know what additions he would have chosen from the imagineers labs or invented himself and what parks he would have added.

More testing for Next Gen (RFID), as has been done in Wonders of Life.
Won't effect the arrival of the attraction in that space down the line a bit.
