Kali River Rapids in deplorable condition

The difference is that a much, much bigger chunk of Disneyland's guest base isn't on vacation.

Yeah, for some a trip to Disney World might be a once in a lifetime experience. Or at least something they will have to wait years for the next trip.

As for the ride, I really like it. One of my fondest memories of it was riding it when it was raining. I got to stay on the ride for many laps.

Again, that map isn't Tiger River.
Aye, from comparing on an overhead image via google maps, that layout from the link looks the same as the current Kali ride's path. I'll repost the Tiger River image you did the other day if it's ok with you (cool job btw, I didn't even know about this piece of concept art as it gives a nice look at how big the ride would have been)-

From this, it looks like Tiger River was slated to occupy a space approximately 3-4 times or larger the size of Kali. It stretches all the way to the tip top of the Planet Watch train track and occupies all the still unused land (you can see just how much land this is on google maps, tis a HUGE space of squandered land). In fact, comparing the land on the map, Tiger River actually looks surprisingly close to Kilimanjaro Safari's size. Not quite as big of course, but respectably close (and the safari is huge).

I have been to AK a ton of times, and this is the only thing I have never been on. I just don't like the idea of getting soaked and then continuing to explore the parks and shows... that's just me though I know a lot of people do like it... but it sounds like this attraction could be better done...or even use the space for...dare I say...another ride altogether? (AK needs more indoor rides anyways)

Reminder that Kali does receive an annual month long refurbishment every winter.... in which nothing gets fixed.

Here are all the effects on Kali that do not work:

Mist/Fog on lift
Geysers at the top of the lift
Mist/Fog in the forest before the burning scene
Flower scents in the forest before the burning scene
Several spots of actual fire in the burning scene, including a big fireball on the huge log above before you drop down the drop.
Smoke in the burning scene (sometimes works)
Burning scents in the burning scene
Truck in burning scene is supposed to wobble, beep it's horn, and spin it's tires trying to regrain traction. The logs on top of the truck are supposed to swing out toward the rafts.
Geysers after the drop
Numerous water spraying effects between after the drop and the return to the station.

Almost nothing works. Nothing. Not to mention the rafts are gross, faded, smelly, and literally often covered with mold.

Absolutely embarrassing ride.

Didn't they upgrade Bugs Life to HD in the Tree rehab this past year? They upgraded Bugs Life to HD at Disney California Adventure back in early 2014, and the results were dramatic; crystal clear, sharp, and even much more colorful and vibrant. So obviously Disney owns a digital download of the attraction to use in theme parks.

Didn't they do the HD upgrade at WDW a few months ago?
Last week was DEFINITELY not an HD transfer. If they do have an HD transfer in DL, then it makes no sense why they would be holding off on Animal Kingdom.

Hm. I just saw the California bug movie this past Monday and didn't notice anything new about it.
To be honest, though, I've never been that impressed with that show anyway. In my estimation the only real entertainment to be had at that attraction is trying to guess how many young children will begin screaming in hysteric terror as soon as the stinging/biting segment begins (This week's answer: 4).

Just to provide an additional viewpoint to this topic. We rode this yesterday. The fountains at the top of the lift were working, all misters were working and the chainsaws were to be heard.
Any smoke? Moving truck?

I'm guessing no fire.
