I've read about that FB group , it is a bunch of death hunting conspiracy theorists looking up deaths from the vaccine and talking about it.

You've heard about it? From where? Did you actually see it and read things about it because they were very fascinating and heart breaking stories, because I was actually in that group. They keep cancelling these groups and they are just regular people posting their stories. None of that concerns you that a giant social media outlet censors things they don't want the public to see? Because people hesitant of getting an experimental vaccine didn't exactly fall off the hay wagon. They came to that conclusion just like you did to yours. Don't you realize by now the true enemy is not one another but it is the government/media manipulating people to turn on each other? 14 months later people haven't figured this out? Complying with tyranny is what will be our downfall, not people not trusting a jab.

Put it another way - I’ve given up trying to help some people. It’s annoying since their ignorance can spoil things for the rest of us (lockdowns, waves, travel restrictions etc) So I’ll just put them on ignore despite vowing not to do that again.

There again, it’s not my job to care about them in the first place. I’ll help anyone who asks. Treat those who deserve it with respect. But when you get to the end of the tether patience runs out.

It isn't the "vaccine hesitant" group (there is a term I'll bet the 2019 version of people would have thought sounded insane) creating the problem. Most of these people are not even getting tested and therefore aren't even part of the case counts. What does that tell you?

I'm not that gullible to fall hook line and sinker for conspiracy theories. Kudos to Facebook to delete this group.

See, you didn't even see it, I did, so what makes you the expert. I talked to these people, they told their stories. You know, you can private message them, they won't bite! I'll ask again, do you not think it is dangerous when social media giants are censoring things that do not align with their narrative? Because you won't like how that ends, read a history book and you'll see that these are NEVER the good guys who do this.

I don't see Disney increasing it's capacity much more for the time being but I sure wish they'd get rid of this park reservation system. For senior annual pass holders who loved to run into the parks for 3 or 4 hours or to just have dinner it has made doing that very difficult. I'm unable to walk around a park all day any more and just enjoy going in for a few hours. There's no spontaneity available in going in for a short period of time any more.

How would they control the number of people entering each park everyday? First come, first served, and then everyone else mingles in front of the park waiting for people to leave?

But yes I do I agree with you that it is a pain in the butt.

A reminder simply placed in the ether - Social Media platforms are not the Government, and do not owe use of their platform to anybody who breaks their terms of use.

Being barred from an app for misusing it by standards agreed to by the user is not censorship.

As a reminder, one of the definitions of censorship is:

the suppression or prohibition of any parts of books, films, news, etc. that are considered obscene, politically unacceptable, or a threat to security.

The word "censorship" is not limited to governments although, until social media became pervasive, the term was most commonly applied to governments.

"Misusing terms of use" often is a reason for censorship. This does not mean that censorship is bad when it happens, although in an open and free society, censorship generally has a negative connotation.

So, yes, being barred from an app for misusing it by standards agreed to by the user is censorship. This does not mean each instance of censorship is wrong, but it is censorship.

Please, let's not redefine words.

Apologies, my post was written a little too much in haste - my intention was not to "redefine words".

I suppose the clearer way of stating what I meant is that when a user signs up for a Social Media platform they agree that they *may* be censored by the platform if it finds their content unsuitable. If a user doesn't like the terms, they are free to refuse them and not create an account. The Government is not subject to opting-in by citizens, and is not permitted to weild this same power. The apparent conflation of Government censorship and Social Media censorship that has become colloquial is erroneous.

Really, Disney and Uni are the only places that absolutely require a mask. Chipotle doesn’t even care anymore. We go pretty much everywhere without wearing one and nobody cares. The parks should at least allow you to take them off outside.

The only places??? 🤣 Sure.

That's sad. The ethnic grocery store I frequent is closed immediately for two weeks for covid. exposure. Some just think to go mask less is the right way to go. How wrong they are..
Here cases are crazy low. I really think NC as a whole has done a great job of balancing life and preventatives measures.

Same in Tennessee. Our numbers went up and down, but in many cases due to the fact the accounting was faulty. One instance they had numbers go through the roof in the Memphis area, only to suddenly reverse course when it was discovered insurance companies were counting folks just being tested and reporting them as officially being 'live cases'.

Once that mistake was discovered, those numbers were rolled back down, and the CDC took credit as it being due to social distancing and mask usage rather than poor accounting. (insert face palm here)

They've stayed down for a while, so much so the Governor just removed most of the mask mandate for the entire State, with the recommendation businesses return to normal by the end of May. It's been interesting!

As I type this, it's just been announced that NYC plans to be 100% open by July 1st.

My brother lives in Tennessee, and he said that no one has been wearing masks for quite a while now, even in big box stores. He went to HOme Depot about a month ago and he was the only one wearing a mask. He has bad lungs so he will wear one anyway, but he reported back then that mask wearing was pretty non-existant.

I think to take from this is it’s not really causing a problem. A lot of the areas with less masks have levels of widespread infection related immunity that isn’t measured I think.

I am near Nashville and the only business really requiring masks is Starbucks, who also has their dining area closed. All the bigger players such as Home Depot have either removed signage or changed it to a suggestion. My county hasn't had a mask mandate since early April and the moment it dropped so did the signs.
