Eh. If Steve is saying something this emphatically, it has to have some degree of truth.
However, it does clash a bit with what Martin said, and what other various sources have been saying.
Maybe there's a mix of stuff going on.
No offense to Steve, of course....
I should be ooohing and ahhing over both!LOL I'm just trying to ground people on this one. It's a refurb just like TTA, nothing special. This whole thing has been blown totally out of proportion, and I can see it now, everyone is buying into all the rumor of big things happening, and then when it reopens there will be all the complaints. I'm just trying to let you know now ahead of time. It's gonna reopen as basically the same ride as it closed.
On the plus side, the new ride control system will make the ride more reliable with less downtime. So that is something to be happy about.
Direct your oooohing and ahhhhing to the FL project, not SM
*sigh*None taken, but you'll see soon enough.
:ROFLOL:Hey Evan, remember this?

Ahhhh a message that touchest my Scottish Calvanist heart...................
Is it part of the 2009 Nickel and Dime Fest? While this is looking like a Nickle and dime refurb and um upset with not getting the DL upgrades I'm not that upset by this one. I love WDW SM, it's the original SM and a much better coaster than DL's. The sad thing is with the DL upgrades the WDW SM would be the best.

But Steve, aren't most of the downtimes due to cascading E-Stops because of slow dispatches and the trains back up?
I should be ooohing and ahhing over both!
Well, at least it'll be patched. That is something to be happy about, you are right...even though it is something that's necessary.

I think the only reason there is so much speculation is due to the amount of downtime. Everyone here is trying to accept the idea that its basically been for cleaning and a new control system, but from what we've seen of the ceiling and the old track and lift hill sequence, nothing looks cleaned at all. 8 months to redo the queue and add a new ride control just seems like a VERY long time. I think everyone is just trying to figure out why it took so long to do so little.
Well no not really. You cant ooh and ahh over what is a maintenance/system refurb. (unless you are mad keen on ride control systems - then you might be impressed). Disney have NEVER said this will be a show refurb - that is all from the internet rumor mill - and as is often the case, its wide of the mark.
So are we not getting queue and post show updates? Is there a particular reason why the view of the post show area from the TTA was just recently walled off?
If it is true, the no on board audio makes no sense.
