While I think this will be amazing to see in person, my heart just broke a little bit. They haven't even started this part (at least I don't think). I think I'm out of luck for this being open in April. :(
im right there with you.. i at least want the walls down in april

I know there are a million other things to complain about, but honestly this is just so annoying. The length of time...it's just grating.
Its a double edged sword. For locals not a big deal. But for out of towners who only go every 4-5 years or people its their first time, it sucks not to see the parks at their best. Its probably selfish sounding since if they did nothing wed be just upset, we want everything to be perfect yet updated so I guess its just human nature. I am just hoping there is no castle work or painting, and spaceship earth is open.

I am sure splash will be long gone. I am kind of dreading this weekend because I am afraid of what they might be closing.

Definitely dreading closure announcements over new announcements - as I don't think we will be getting much new at WDW.

I've prepared myself for everything that's closed in Epcot to still be closed when we go next April.
I've even prepared myself for Spaceship Earth to be closed - no idea, but just in case.
I'm fine with Splash, not our favorite anyways.

But my big fear is they will announce something for Dino-land at Animal Kingdom and somehow Dinosaur will be closed for updates/refurb during our trip. That will hurt. That is one of our favorites.

Is a 16’ tall character statue still considered subtle?

This is actually my concern too. Granted that this looks to be a well incorporated structure and probably won't stick out too prominently, but I would prefer the Moana elements to be smaller and integrated as opposed to be a focal point. Still, the artwork does look beautiful and, even if it has more IP elements than I'd prefer, it will be a great addition to Epcot with greenery and water elements and being an attraction you can walk through at your own leisure instead of having to wait in line.

You know what's funny?
Can we ditch the "inspired by" at this point and just call it Moana's Journey of Water? Or have they yet to decide whether there will be a face character making regular appearances?
I guess that is up to Disney to change the official name. Either way, the name won't impact the attraction.
