Wait, save for the Imagination flip and the inclusion of neutral spots on either side... everything is the same? That makes a lot of the language and tone seem rather hyperbolic.

That new site plan of the center of World Celebration have nothing do with including Imagination in the neighborhood. The neighborhood boundaries were decided back when the Festival Center. CommuniCore Plaza is not aligned to the Imagination Pavilion, just the theater. Most people will also be viewing the stage with their back to Imagination because that is where space actually exists for them. You’re entire rationale for why it makes sense is that they might do something in the future not in the current scope of work.

So at the invention of the neighborhoods, JoW was a barrier and then open space towards Imagination, with the festival center right next to it?

And now the revamped building is being expanded around the existing bathroom to attempt a separation and then a hole is punched through to lead right to an entrance to Imagination I didn't even really notice before this moment.

The Imagination flip is weird, but it looks like there has been more plan than cutting the head off a chicken and seeing which square it lands on.

I’m going to wait to actually experience the new layout before making any pronouncements about it. How something looks on a map doesn’t always accord with how it feels in real life.

Perhaps that's the issue?

No, it’s not just that one change. World Nature extends into the center without connection far more than you have shown or seem to acknowledge. You also just keep ignoring Odyssey.

There is no revamped building. The new building does not lead to an entrance to Imagination. Getting to Imagination will not be changed.

A well designed plan would be easy to understand. Clearly it is not.

Do we often think about Odyssey as... anything? It was once a cafeteria, sat fallow for a long time and has been expo space. From what I've been told, it only still stands because the kitchen also feeds CMs. The geometric shape matches the side of Future World it's on, but by theming or spatial relationship it kinda sits off to itself? The name fits both front and back and I chalked it up to unincorporated space like the long, empty pathway.

There's trees. Do you mean the trees when you talk about World Nature creeping in?

There is no revamped building. The new building does not lead to an entrance to Imagination. Getting to Imagination will not be changed.

It follows the shape so well that I figured they were using some semblance of bones. Funnily enough I was trying to be safe in using that word lest someone scream "They're not building a new building! You think they'd shell out the money? They're just reusing as much as they can to scrimp and maximize profits, you sheep!"

Getting to Imagination will not be changed.

I'm used to taking the same pathway through the parks in my life. Left at the hub, Jungle Cruise as the first ride, around to Tomorrowland. That sort of thing. I've always approached Imagination from the pathway leading to the front of The Land, and never noticed the other path that used to lead right out of... I think that's the exit of the Coke space. Now it seems it will lead to the plaza hole.

A well designed plan would be easy to understand. Clearly it is not.

I'm mostly confused by struggling to find information. I still can't remember how I found that plan, but know it took at least an hour back when I linked it the first time. Searches for information showed the same official art and almost the same text everywhere I looked. Perhaps more will be cleared up this weekend.

If they were so concerned with changing the name Future World to something else cause they would never put money into it. Then why three separate disjointed Worlds? Couldn't Discovery World worked for everything?

I guess im in the minority here but I dont care about the names of the "worlds" at all. Ive never been to epcot and thought about if im in world of discovery or nature or watevers. To me Epcot is divided into the front and back

This is why I still call it Future World even though that's not the official name or even an aptly descriptive one now. It's just easier.

It's always been in three pieces. The upgraded terminology seems to have sprouted out of trying to avoid the "Future World" moniker and the same complaints people have had about Tomorrowland forever. The future always comes and then it's not the future.

Exactly. World Showcase is clearly a defined "thing," so you need a word do refer to the collection of everything that isn't World Showcase.

"Future World East" and "Future World West" always confused the hell out of everyone though, because Epcot is oriented South to North.

I don't know why they didn't come up with a new name for the whole area. They could have split it into neighborhoods or whatever under that umbrella, but it still needs something to describe the whole non-World Showcase area.
