I have been reading around to find some rumors and and wishful thought that Journey into your Imagination is going to be refurbished and possibly restored to its original glory. Some interviews not even worth posting say there are plans for the ride. Im not getting my hopes up but after what they did with the Tiki Room I wouldn't be as surprised as I used to be. Im not getting to exited but is it possible?

If there were to be another rehab it wouldn't use the old track area. They would stay with the current configuration and keep the downstairs Imageworks. The "Build Your Own Figment" game that it currently in the Imageworks area may be a hint at things to come. :animwink:

Well considering that Dreamfinder and Figment made an appearance at D23, it kind of gives a bit of credence to the Imagination rehab rumors. :animwink:

It was a nod to devout nostalgia, just as Disney annually releasing Dreamfinder t-shirts or other merchandise serves the same purpose. There seems to be a line of thought that because the Tiki Room is being redone tthe same will occur with JII. Unfortunately, there's been no indication that the Tiki Room rehab would have taken place if there hadn't been a fire.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that Disney execs would go thru all the trouble of setting up and orchestrating that whole song and dance just to appeal to nostalgia and sell merchandise. They've never gone thru that much trouble to sell merchandise in the past, so I'd have to say that there is more to it than that. :)

The whole event was supposed to be a celebration of WDW's past. Just because something was featured and honored in the event doesn't mean it's coming back. It also wasn't exactly a whole lot to set that up either.

I remember an episode of I Love Lucy in which Ricky brought home a fur coat that he had rented for a show, and Lucy immediately assumed that he had purchased it as a gift for her. Hilarity ensued.
Strong desire sometimes undermines clear thinking. If there is no clear evidence that there is a refurb on the way, we should not assume that faint clues mean much at all.

If nice profits can be made, then don't doubt what they will do in order to make that happen. People who went to this event shelled out decent money to go and it was entirely done to play up the nostalgic side of things. Attendees had to pay for membership, event tickets, merchandise, meals, hotel stays, etc. They had a captive audience and they knew what they were doing. You could be optimistic about a rehab, but I definitely wouldn't expect something to happen and I would bet plenty that the attraction will not be like the original.

It was an event celebrating Disney World's past. They also had animatronics from the Mickey Mouse Revue on display, should I expect that show to return?

They've been selling retro EPCOT merch for years now, yet Horizons, WoM and the other extinct pavilions have yet to return. They've also been pumping out Orange Bird merch like nobody's business, I don't see him walking the parks though. People are reading too much into Disney cashing in on diehard's nostalgia.

Okay so how do I make the emoticons that hit themselves in the head with a hammer and add in a few of the ones that cry, along with a few shrugging their shoulders, and maybe we can try and figure out why we keep torturing ourselves with this topic.

But with the new track system they wouldn't need all that track space anyway. Since the ride comes to complete stops the ride is just as long. If you notices the old ride was longer and so were the scenes. Now they dont need that because you can stop at each act. If the next version is just as good as the old one the lines are going to be outrageous do to the new track system. I dont care if Imageworks is downstairs as long as it is as good as the old one. It was kind of cool to go upstairs and see out those big windows. I saw an interview video and they said there are big plans for Imagination but they cant say anything. Let me see if I can dig it out again.
