Jersey Week???

Darn--it's Jersey Week, and nobody told me? :ROFLOL:

Yes, my kids are off Thursday and Friday, too, as are all public school students in the state, for the state Teachers' Convention.

They can't have this in the summer when it doesn't affect the school calendar? I swear, I wish I had this many days off when I was in school (and it wasn't that long ago)!

It's not as if everyone in Jersey is going to flock to Disney World, so there shouldn't be any significant increase, especially in this economy.

If they had it in the summer, NO ONE would attend (as it is now, very few attend!). Many teachers work at the Jersey beaches during the summer to supplement their income, or at local summer camps.

You would be very surprised how many of my son's classmates and teachers are not in school this week because they are at WDW.....

I wouldn't be so sure about that. :lookaroun  Out of 11 students in my classroom, 3 of them are in Disney right now. I know of at least 8 other kids in my school going to Disney as well this week.

Jersey is empty this week...everyone is in Disney!

During one of my Jersey Week visits, we were riding the MK train, and someone yelled "Who is from Jersey?" - and practically the entire train replied!

I don't know of any other state that has a Disney internet fan community reputation like "Jersey Week" - do you?

Nope! I have never heard of Wyoming Week or South Dakota Week. Have you?

I have gone before during Jersey Week and had similar things happen. Everywhere you go...more people from Jersey!

I remember when we were at WDW for our honeymoon back in '05 and there seemed to be a lot of people from Jersey. However that was in October so I'm not sure if it would have been the "Jersey Week" you speak of

Jersey week is this week, because of teachers conventions. The parks won't be swarmed...but you'll find more people from NJ than you normally would. Thankfully we will be there the 9-15th... so I don't have to worry. They should start to flock back to Jersey on Sunday. I'm from Jersey and my family and I used to go during Jersey Week...but that was when there was such a thing as "value season" so the crowds were always light anyway even with the NJ people.

4 more days!!!! :sohappy:

Doesn't sound like you have been at Disney during "Jersey Week"! I swear - there can't be anyone left in the state - they are ALL at Disney! We have been there this time of the year several times - it's ALLLLL Jersey!

There are a few people left in NJ...just not very many. I am still here, but that is because I was just in Disney 2 weeks ago.

Must assuredly there is a Jersey Week effect.

If I could have gotten cheaper airfare my kids and I would be adding to it this upcomming weekend :)

I believe that outside of Florida, NJ is the State that "sends" the most people to WDW

I know that as of May, NJ has the largest per capita DVC ownership in the country - Roughly 1 in every 700 people in NJ are DVC owners. I am doing my part, are you ? :)

And thats "people" so if you take into account that a family is often comprised of more than one "people" it's a lot less, maybe as low as 1 in 250 families are DVC owners.
