I've read somewhere that NJ residents own the most of DVC sales (already stated) and that NJ residents travel to WDW the most out of any other state.

So even not during Jersey Week you are more likely to run into NJ-ians. And they have that sly reference in Gret Movie Rides gangster scene.

And if you ride GMR during Jersey Week you are sure to hear some interesting responses to this line. :lookaroun

The airlines even know it's jersey week. You can't get a reasonable fare out of Newark or Atlantic City from the Friday before the teacher's convention through the Friday of the convention down to Disney. I am talking 3 to 4 times the regular fare.

We are leaving to go down on Saturday, as I have a 3 YO that isn't in school, and you can get a decent fare. I would never venture through Newark Airport during jersey week!

Well that and the fact that On The Waterfront is about corruption on the New Jersey and New York docks. It was filmed in Hoboken NJ. The same Hoboken where my grandfather worked in the - now gone - Bethlehem Steel Ship Yards as a Marine Machinist (just throwing that out there :) )

I looked at EWR/MCO a while back, just on a whim. $500 - $600 round trip - insane.

It's not as if everyone in Jersey is going to flock to Disney World...

Dude, it's not like WE started calling it Jersey Week first. ;)

I remember taking the DVC tour, when our rep found out my then-gf-now-woife was a teacher, she chirpily replied, "well I guess we'll be seeing you during Jersey Week!" And without ever hearing that term before, we knew exactly what she meant, because we HAD thought about sometimes going during Convention Week.

We were at WDW last year at this time, actually go every year at this time but, it was packed! I say Jersey, you say Ho! Well, lets just say there was no shortage of ho-ho-ho's. We've now switched to Jan.

Nothing wrong with Jersey, just trying to capitalize on our short amount of time.

I am also a sad Jersey girl who can't afford to go to WDW for Teacher's Convention. Hence- I'm drowning my sorrows in Hershey, PA with a whole lotta chocolate!
