I've got the "I didn't get to go to WDW blues"

Yep. My brother, mom, & aunt are arriving at WDW today without me. I really wanted to go with & I sure did try. Mom hasn't been down there in like 14 years & this is her 1st ever stay on property. I'm hoping & praying everything goes well so she'll be willing to go back again with us in the future. I just hate it when life gets in the way of fun, tho.

I need a Disney fix. Maybe I'll finally lay my trip reports out into books or something. I'm crossing my fingers that we'll be able to make our September trip happen. :animwink:

Okay. Done whining.

I was unable to go this winter, first time since 1986. But my Mom, sister-in-law, niece and cousin went for a girls only trip. And Mom brought me back two snickerdoodles from Prairie Outpost (which she knows I love). So that gave me a piece of Disney for a couple days (they keep fresh remarkably well).

This being the long Canadian weekend, I have 3 1/2 days off and was actually considering flying down this morning and being back Tuesday at Noon (work at 2:30pm). But what if I was late? And the price (about $500) plus Disney costs was too much for 2 1/2 days of Disneying. Will save $ for a proper trip next winter.

I sooo feel your pain Sweetpee. When they announced the free dining for September I begged, pleaded and bribed my husband in an attempt to convince him to go to Disney instead of Santa Fe, which is where he wants to go this year. Well, it didn't work and while I am happy to go on any vacation, I had a bit of a Disney funk going for about a week. My funk only got worse when we spent the weekend with his sister and she decided that she and her husband WOULD be going to Disney in September and asked me to help her plan her ADRs. So - instead of planning my own trip I had to "suffer" through planning someone elses. Cruel I tell ya! :ROFLOL:

I had that this past Christmas. My parents, brother, sister in law and three nephews went over New Years Eve. I found out they were going before Christmas and was so hurt that I wasn't informed or invited. Even worse, they were telling the kids Christmas morning when we were all going to be together. So I'd be the only one not going. :(

I actually couldn't be more happier for them and the kids to be going. I definitely had the blues for a bit that I wasn't going.More so because I wanted to see the kids reactions to things and watch their faces through the trip. What I looked at instead was our trip for my BF and I have planned in October. Although I was bummed I missed it, I know there will be more trips in the future. :animwink:

I feel your pain. It looks like my October trip this year isn't happening. My BFF that was going with me had some unexpeted medical bills, plus her lease is coming up and the it's rumored that her rent is going to double, so she doesn't want to deplete her savings for a trip to the World. Can't really blame her, but it was a big letdown. And with DD in college, the only free time she has is weekends, and that's a lot of money for a day and a half in the parks.

Feel your pain. Last year both my brother in laws and their family/girlfriends went down and my hubby and I who are the Disney nuts, where stuck back at home thinking about their trip and being all jealous. But just think when you are on your cruise next year they won't and then they will be the ones that are jealous!

I feel so bad for you. :( Last summer I was going to get to go to the Poly because we got an amazing deal and I was so happy that I was crying. But I was a manager for the "largest bank ever to fail" and last summer was our conversion so I had to cancel. But here's the upside, since we didn't sped the money last summer, this summer we are headed back and I am totally going to make up for last summer. It helps to start planning now, planning and thinking of all the things to catch up on. That's why I love this site so much, it was nice just to hear and see all the great things about Disney and to see the people who love it so much.

:( I feel your pain -- that happened to me this year too. My whole family went without me and my husband! We just weren't able to make it work schedule wise (plus I'm pregnant and I wasn't 100% sure I was up for a WDW trek since at the time I was feeling sick a lot.) The whole week they were gone was so depressing -- plus the weather was horrible here at home! :(

Back in '05 I actually had plane tickets bought to join my family for Thanksgiving at WDW and had to cancel a month or so before my trip after my employer decided not to honor my already granted vacation. Add in trying to switch my tickets around and I was more than a little annoyed.

How woulld you like to be a travel agent like myself and specialize in Disney vactions....Booking trip after trip....Just because you are a TA dosnt mean you have the funds to go anytime you want...Not to mention my mother is a CM. I get weekly reports on the goings on in the parks and resorts. Alot of back stage info..Every month my mother sends me the CM's news letter....Eyes and Ears. Also lurking around on boards like this... makes it so hard being 800 miles away.

The reason I became a TA, was because of my love for WDW. Most of the trips I do are rather generic as far as trips go...but every once in a while you have someone where money is no object. You get to book all the bells and whistles....Its alot of fun...but find myself envious. I often live vicarously thru some of my clients.

My next rip is next month, Its been 18 months sincce my last. I have gone atleast twice a year for the last eight years prior....Boy am I do!

I'm sorry to hear about your blues, sweetpea! I too get the blues, especially when I read fun trip reports and long to be there. It's so hard to watch someone else go and think about all the fun they're having.

I hope you'll get to go soon! I think working on trip reports would help to pass the time until you can be there! :)

I was feeling pretty bluesy myself until I just booked our trip for August today. :sohappy:

I feel the same Sweetpea! We have been to WDW each year for the last 6 years, apart from one year, when we went to Disneyland Paris. This year, money is a little tighter, and the flight prices to the US have increased dramatically, so I don't think we will make it this year or next year. :(

I just keep reading trip reports. :(

I feel your pain. We were planning to go last year...until I got pregnant. It really seemed like EVERYONE I knew was either going to DW or the cruise. I can't complain because I now have a beautiful baby but boy was I sad to see all my friends go while I sat home...with morning sickness!!!

We were suppose to go this coming June. Got a new job, no vacation for the first 6 months, so, no Disney this year. I am very bummed but there's always next year..... we always say the same thing for the Browns.

I'm glad so many can comisserate with me. Lol!

Mom & Jerry are so wrong. Just had a voicemail letting me know they had entered Epcot & found my "babies" on their LaL tile. Ugh! I'm so jealous! Mom was being sweet, tho, thinkin' of us like that. :D

They head home tomorrow. I'll see 'em Sunday morning. Think I'll set my alarm & go toss my little dog in bed with them bright & early. :animwink:
