My friend has a Mickey Mouse onesie she got at WalMart! I should have gotten one when she got hers!! RATS!!!

Anywho - random question - how many bags are we allowed to bring on the ship? How many can we carry on and how many will they bring on for us to be more specific.Cause I'm packing to go to Jackonsonville right now and I'm going for 4 days. And I have a full suitcase!! I can only imagine how much I'll need to pack for 4 nights on the cruise and 4 nights at Disney... oh boy!! It's my shoes! I have too many shoes!!

I saw those onsies at Christmas - they were pretty cute but not for a woman of 55!!

I'm hoping I can fit everything I need into 1 checked bag and a carryon, along with my big Disney tote bag. I need to cull out my shoes, too!

The good news is, there's no real limit! Now if you pulled up with 20 bags you may have a problem (and you'll need a really big tip :) ) but it really doesn't matter too much. You'll get one or two bag tags in your documents. If you are on Disney transfers, Disney will get those from baggage claim ala DME. If not, you will just put them on and give them to the porters when you get to the port. If you have more bags, the porters will make you more.

We usually give them any extra carry-ons that we don't need also. You don't want to carry too much because you'll be stuck carting it around until the rooms open around 1:30.

I think we always get 2 of the bag tags per person with our docs. Good to know they'll make you extras if needed. Gotta tag the stuff your checking. The carryons will be on you.

Yes, I was thinking it was 2! I don't remember them going to one like DME did.

They will definitely make extra which is handy when we want to check back packs and what not, and handy if you forget your tags! :)

Oh! And bringing alcohol/wine/etc. I thought I'd mention what Tracey and I did last September for our getaway weekend. We actually flew in vs. drive like we normally do. We really stressed over the liquor! Anywhoo, I wrapped his bottle of Crown Royal and my bottle of vodka with several layers of bubble wrap each. Then, I placed them in a garbage bag and wrapped them up tight. After that, I repeated the process again wrapping the bottles tight. Finally, I carefully taped off the end of the final bag with packing tape so the package was completely sealed. We packed this package in the center of our checked suitcase with clothing under, over, and on both sides to act as padding. When we got to our hotel room after our flight we pulled the liquor package out of the suitcase and placed the bottles in our carryon backpack. The next day when we boarded the ship we had our liquor in our carryon just like we're supposed to do. Worked fine. So, if you're going to have at least one checked suitcase coming into the girls cruise maybe you can pack your wine or liquor for the flight then transfer it to your carryon or a wine tote to board the ship. If you're going to WDW pre-cruise, isn't there a wine cellar shop thing in World Showcase? AND, if you're flying in and staying at the MCO Hyatt, there IS a local liquor store who WILL deliver to that hotel. I signed up for their discount card thing and I get emails for their specials all the time. ;)

I definitely am going to do this! I was curious about how to get liquor once I'm down there (nervous about packing it in my carry on but I could try) either way it's good to know I have options! Thanks Kel!

That was my next inquiry!! lol We are flying in so we might have to bring our liquor with us! Or.. does anyone know if there is a liquor store in MCO? I know some airports have them, but they can be quite pricey. Just want a couple options for us to make sure we can get our liquor.... Not that we're lushes or anything!! lol We just enjoy a cocktail or two here and there :)

Jess, you can't carry the liquor on the plane because of the liquid restrictions. It has to fly in a checked bag. Then it's reversed for getting onto the cruise. DCL doesn't like you to have liquor in your checked bags because of breakage and the risk to OTHER people's luggage that's with yours. The cruise line wants you to carry it onboard. Does that make sense?

I've heard conflicting info as to whether there's a duty free in the airport at MCO or not. I'll dig at that info some more. If you'll be at WDW pre-cruise you could take a bus to DtD then walk across to the Hess station. That's another option.

I'll keep working at this liquor/wine thing and make sure everyone finds some sort of options for getting their drinkies on. I'm not an everyday lush but I'm finding that when cruising my inner-lush tends to come prancing out. LOL!

Duh I totally knew about the carry on thing. I don't know what I was thinking. I meant "checked" bag. For some reason I didn't think you could transfer alcohol state to state but I was clearly misinformed. So I will either put it in my checked back or order some when I get to the hotel and put it in my carry on for the cruise. Maybe I'll look into plastic bottles of rum. Classy!

On other cruise lines that don't allow you to carry alcohol on they make these things called "Rum Runners" to attempt to smuggle it onboard. They're basically like heavy mil plastic pouches like a CapriSun with a screw on cap. I'm ashamed to admit it but I have a set. Prob'ly will buy another set. A lot of people wear cargo shorts when boarding other cruises and carry as much on as they can. Then they also pack these Rum Runners in their shoes in their luggage, etc. No, I've not researched techniques at aaaaaaall......o_O...:p

Everyone keeps saying this, but something tells me the trip reports are going to be pretty tough to write without disproving all these claims... ;)

A few FYIs for the gals:

#1. Just got a Click-n-Save email from Southwest Airlines. The price for me came down a little but not much. Maybe others will see a bigger difference. Anywhoo, it's for travel thru Sept. 27th so it applies to our travel dates. Good luck!

#2. If you want to go to the Remy brunch I can't stress enough how important it is for you to make that decision and have your stateroom paid in full as early as possible to gain that booking advantage (as per the email Tammy sent out). For my upcoming cruise on the Fantasy we're currently 85 days from sailing and Remy brunch is all but sold out for both available days. On our girls cruise we have only 1 day that it will be offered. It's going to be harder to get the later you wait.

It's getting so much more REAL! I'm psyched!!!

Paying ours off in a couple of weeks specifically for this reason Kelly. Southwest's prices are coming down!! Right now, I think online specials are $138 for me flying out of Philadelphia, but good thing is, if I book, and the price gets even lower, Southwest will give me credit for my trips to Fla in April or November!! Gotta love Southwest!!
As for Remy Brunch, Im in, just need to pay off the cruise :)

I am bring Amaretto with us in my carry on? Any idea if they have Pineapple juice available at the drink station? I know they don't have Barq's Root beer so I guess I'm bringing that too. That backpack is going to be heavy. May have to resort to the small rolling bag!

I did a search for "Nassau port schedule" and landed here:

http://ports.cruisett.com/schedule/Bahamas/455-Nassau/September_2013/

You can look up ports all over the world then search month & year. Cool, huh? I was hoping we wouldn't be in on a day that one of Royal Caribbean's big ships would be there. Less people. ;)
