I like this option too (I like both really, but tend to lean toward Kelly's suggestions) I read Tammy's email (dang girl, you are excellent at planning!!!!!!!!!!!) I will go with the flow, all of Tammy and Kelly's suggestions, I am sitting here outloud saying YES ... YES and YES! LOL

Lol! I'm a planner, it's what I do. And Kelly helped! She's good at looking at it from a first time cruisers eyes! :)

I was so freaked when I was planning for our first cruise. Going from knowing all the ins & outs like the back of my own hand to knowing NOTHING was a very unnerving thing. The cruises are so different from the parks. My brother and his girls are going with us in May on the Fantasy and they've never cruised before. ((I do NOT count the drunk fest on Carnival my brother went on with his girlfriend for her senior trip.)) When trying to get the point across about a lot of things I try to explain or contrast in terms of what my brother knows already. He knows the parks. Puting things in terms with what he can already identify helps to clarify a LOT.

Tammy is killer at planning. I can plan well but she's like super-hero awesome at it. On top of that, she's really good at group planning which is a whole other beast. Could you imagine trying to plan/coordinate a trip to WDW for mostly people who've never been??? That's what Tammy's doing, essentially, and she's doing it quite well. Major kudos for the patience alone. Much better chick than me, that's for sure. LOL!

I've already started the *cruise wardrobe* LOL (oh yes, shift dresses a MUST ... but truthfully, I rarely wear dresses, so what the heck LOL) See, Im exactly the same as your brother, I know the parks, well. I feel like fish out of water (OK, bad analogy LOL) with cruises.... but Im learning!!!! @Disneyfalcon ..... OUTSTANDING job by the way!!!! You're another reason why I love KK so much!!!!!

I'm not typically a dress person either. I'm more of a pajamas person. Unfortunately, the rest of the world doesn't enjoy my jammies as much as me. I know. Crazy world! Anywhoo, I've got my new little Lilly collection going on. Since we started cruising I've amassed quite a wardrobe of dresses. I don't think I've ever owned this many dresses in my whole life. My goodness, was it possible for me to get more girly???? I'm glad we get to see so many first-timers thru on the cruise. I know it would've made my first cruise a lot more relaxing had I not felt like I was so clueless. In the end, I found it a ton of fun to tackle another Disney vacation type and very satisfying to have all fresh stuff to absorb. It's really interesting how different the travel planning is for each of the different Disney-type vacations. WDW is nothing like planning the cruises and it's equally as different from Disneyland. It's crazy!

I'm definitely still finding things that are all-new to me with the cruises. Like, in May when we go to Grand Cayman on the Fantasy we booked a private boat to take us to Stingray City thru a local company there. We'll be tendering (taking a little boat from the ship to the pier) and fending for ourselves once on land. No following the tour guide stick off the ship. I'm getting more and more comfortable with the thought that I can walk off the ship in foreign lands and do stuff on my own. At first we were so unsure of things we wouldn't do that so readily. And I'm finding where it's worth it or not worth it to bother doing all the leg work away from the cruise line. It's all fun and interesting!

OMG!!!! I'm forgetting and I told myself to NOT forget!!!!!

Okay, those of you who read my TR from January. Remember how on our WDW night Tracey and I put on our jammies and ran back & forth to the laundry? Mostly we just wanted the clothes we wore that day to be clean again. Anywhoo, I was wearin' my red & white polka dot "Minnie"-ish jammies. When we were on an elevator going back to the laundry a lady was with us and complimented my jammies. She said, "You should go down and get your picture with Mickey in that. It'd make a great shot to have." I *did* go down to the atrium (yes, in my jammies and NO makeup) but I didn't carry my camera down assuming they'd have a photog there to do the pics for me. They didn't. Mickey was there greeting passengers as they trickled back onto the ship. No camera. Bummer! I totally would've loved that pic. Buuuuuut, OMG! How fun would it be to get a group cute jammies pic??? With a character like MICKEY????? I'm totally packing all my favoritest colorful pajamas. I'm prob'ly bringing Ellie Boo but I may bring a Duffy, too. How stinkin' adorable would that be???? I think Disney is totally missing a good thing here. They should do a pajama party night like they do Pirate night. Seriously. All the characters in pajamas. That would ROCK!!!!

I have Cheshire Cat pjs. Disney jammies are the most comfortable!

Digesting cruise info. Definitely interested in fine dining. Champagne Brunch is at Remy? That's probably the one I'd go for. :D

Fair-skinned redhead who never learned how to swim...could lounge in cabana, that's about it. Still, it sounded good in Kelly's TR.

Might be convinced to join group at Senor Frog's just for ceremony. Wasn't planning on setting foot on Nassau--went there on my spring break freshman year of college and got mugged. No desire to go back. Although I'm sure it's changed in the last 30 years.

Don't think you would have to worry about that this trip. No self-respecting mugger would dare take on this group of Disney chics traveling in a pack. He would take one look and run screaming the other way! LOL

I totally understand what youre saying but just stay on the beaten path :) I really hope many others want to do Senor Frogs. Im in for fine dining too, Ill go with the flow, and definately in for going in on a cabana. Seriously considering Kelly's suggestion about the dolphin experience at Atlantis too.

I have Mickey PJs! Maybe I'll look when I'm down there for cuter ones. I'm packing all Mickey/Disney clothes for my lounge stuff!

I was also not planning to head into Nassau at all - but hearing that there will be next to NO ONE there...I'm thinking of maybe doing Atlantis. Jury is still out on that one!

The crazy thing was, I grew up in The Bronx...and had to go to the Bahamas to experience having my purse snatched!! :p

Atlantis is on Paradise Island, isn't it? That's much nicer than Nassau.

I have to be honest, I did have a fear of leaving the ship, before talking to Kelly and Tammy. Just hang with the girls, we are as safe as kittens!! Think, two words, Senor Frogs and one heck of a photo op!! LOL

Reviewing Tammy's email, and I have a couple of questions:

On a basic level, Palo is Italian and Remy is French, is that right? I get that Remy could take 3 hours for dinner, and while I'm not sure I could sit for that long, if the food is really out of this world, I might consider it. Also, I've seen it described as "$75 for dinner, $99 with wine pairing". Does that mean $99 for food + wine, or $174 for food + wine?

I'm thinking Palo's a definite, though. Palo dinner seems like a no-brainer for $20.

Remy is the champagne brunch where the champagne is not included, is that right? What's the total cost for that brunch, including the champagne? (I remember reading about a five-course champagne brunch--is this it?) Anyone ever go to it? How's the food?

I LOVE all the posts on this thread, but I'm having a hard time catching up, lol!

On a basic level, yes! Palo is Italian and Remy is French. And yes the food is supposed to be that out of this world.
That's $174 for food + wine for each course. Like 5 full glasses of wine. You can order a single glass or two separately and pay for it that way too.
The total cost for the champagne brunch with the champagne pairing is $75. It's pretty new and I haven't done it. It's supposed to be great though!

I'm miserably behind on checking schoolwork so I'm losing my up-to-date-ness here, too.

Eating at Remy is akin to eating at Victoria & Alberts. Except I think the decor is much cooler (I'm not a fan of Victorian). I've had the Remy dinner and the food was amazing. I think with the right company the 3 hours could be fun. I'm almost tempted to say the dessert courses alone are worth the price of admission. Did you catch that? Plural, as in more than ONE dessert course! Remy dinner also includes a single glass of a champagne drink that's signature for the restaurant.

The brunch at both Palo & Remy includes 1 glass of champagne or a choice of one of a few different adult drinks. Palo brunch I always get a mimosa then drink Tracey's because he doesn't like it. LOL! I've not done the Remy brunch but I want to. Tracey is kinda iffy on it so I'm not sure I'll book it in May on the Fantasy but I definitely want to try it. If I don't do it in May I'll be looking to do it on the girls cruise. I love brunch moreso than dinner so if there's no other specialty dining I do I'm leaning towards Remy brunch because it's the 1 dining experience I've not done of the 2 restaurants for the 2 meal times.

The only pair of jammies I own I had to buy special for my trip to the UK a couple years ago - I just sleep in one of hubby's old t-shirts at home. Looks like I need to put Disney jammies on the shopping list, or, if I can find material that I like, maybe I can bribe my BFF to make me a pair - I know she has a jammie pattern and she's a much better sewer than me. We could take a group jammie picture on our balcony holding our drinky-drinks!
