And drinks at the Poly at 7!
Don't forget, at the end of your cruise you will have the option to tip (either as a room charge or in cash) all your servers and your Room Steward.

They will automatically charge your room for tips for the amount Disney deems appropriate for each member of your service team (I don't know the math...so, can't help you there)

For a 7 night, I want to say that my Room Steward got around $60, as well as my assistant server. The mid level server and the head server got less...I think the head server was around $25. This was the default. I left $40 in cash for my Room Steward in addition (kiddo gave it to him as we left the ship).

For other tipping, you can do that everywhere on the ship when you charge to your room...so, if you get something from the cafe, you can tip. If you get a drink from the guy selling beer near the pools, you can leave at tip. Etc...

Anyhow, wasn't sure if you were aware.

Also, you may want to take loose cash for tipping when at port or off ship. Some of the ports had rickshaws, etc.

For the examples you cited above (café, pool service) did you mean you can add tip to your room charge, or should tip in cash on those occasions?

You can add it to your room charge. Every purchase you charge to your room, you will be presented with a receipt that has a tip line, like a restaurant.

So, you can tip without having to carry around cash. Even the guy who was walking around offering drinks on a tray during the Sailing Away Deck party I was able to tip that way.

Thanks @englanddg and @sweetpee_1993. I knew about the automatic tips being charged for the servers, and knew I could add to that at the end, I just wondered how much I needed for luggage guys and such. Looks like $20 in ones will get me started. Ooh, and I need to remember to put some envelopes in my suitcase.

You won't see the luggage guys...your bags will magically appear and disappear...

So, unless you plan to leave the tip on the bag itself with a sign...you won't need to tip them.

And I have another question: How long is the ride from the Hyatt to WDW? Need to know how much time to allow to meet @Howe at the Poly at 7PM Saturday night.
Are you driving (I assume you are)...

It isn't long at all. I'd give it 15 - 20 minutes, and that's giving it plenty of room to park and walk in.

For DCL to do both NYC & the Med at the same time they'd have to pull the Wonder from Alaska to cover one or the other. I don't see that happening. Alaska does well. So, we'll have to see what Mickey does with the Magic. Which side of the pond do they send her to? Personally, I want the Baltic back. I want to sail the Baltic ports BAD!

Exactly! What Kelly said. Alaska, the Med and NYC all did well. Otherwise it would be more predictable!

Thanks @englanddg, I'll be taking a taxi. I'll probably give myself half an hour or maybe more then. It's not like I can't walk around and soak up some of the Poly's atmosphere.
Way too long. Cabs should be waiting in your parking lot for fares, or if you really want you can pre-book a pick up time with Mears.

But, then again, you are absolutely correct. Never too much time to walk around that beautiful resort! Plus, you may be able to get in some shopping (it's one of my favorite shops on property...even if I don't buy anything)...

One idea, maybe get a coconut post card to send home? The only places on property you can get them are at Poly and Caribbean Beach.
