I have naturally curly hair. There is no straightening this mess. I just wash, gel, mousse and go. No blow drying or I will look like I'm from the 80's. I've tried to get it professionally straightened once. Paid an astronomical amount of money, walked outside and instant frizz. Stayed that way for three weeks. It was horrible and I'd never have the nerve to try anything again. Just go natural or pull it back in a ponytail.
The picture is my daughters hair. Mine is the same just a different color. Lol

Hah! I have naturally curly hair as well (pretty much looks like your kiddo's when it's long...but it hasn't been long since I was 20)...

And, I also tried to have my hair straightened (I wanted the popular "skater style" haircut in the early 90s)...yeah...didn't work out.

I just thought your post was amusing.

My hair didn't even curl as nicely as your daughter's. When I was her age, it was just madness. Then they came out with the hot comb (which didn't work). Eventually I got my hair chemically straightened. Cost a fortune (back in the late 70s) but it was never frizzy again--until now!! At 50, my hair won't curl anymore, can't manage more than a half-hearted wave, so I use the flatiron. Thankfully, it's still thick, so I wash it once a week, air dry it, flatiron it, and I'm good to go--Sunday is hair day. :)

Are you sure you're not my brother?? After having to put up with a red afro for his adolescence, and seeing the results of my straightening, he insisted on the same. His hair was WAAAYYY longer than we ever imagined after it was relaxed.

That was a nice fall day with no humidity and plenty of product in it. I have found that leaving conditioner in our hair helps a lot. My kids didn't stand a chance. My husband and I both have naturally curly hair. While he chooses to shave his, I'm kind of stuck with mine. Lol

Yes, us guys have more options when it comes to unruly locks!

Have you tried Frizz Ease products? They work well for the kiddo and my sister (who has the same hair)...

The kid, I don't even mess with it. That's why you'll always see her hair in braids in pictures. Until she's old enough to hot comb it herself, this trend will continue.

Ohhhh that would make me so nervous too! My gifts are lightweight and fairly flat so they shouldn't take up much space in my luggage!

Speaking of luggage, I'm working on packing. I know everyone is different... I'm thinking I'm bringing a casual outfit for each day and then a dress for each night. Is that kind of what everyone else is planning?

That's my plan Courtney! Casual for daytime, a little bit dressy for the show / dinner. I love dressing up anyway and do it fairly often so dressing up for the show and dinner is just like another day for me!!

The frizz ease products did not work for my hair at all. I use Ion products. So far it's been really good to me and the kiddos hair.

Ion works better for my kiddo. Frizz Ease gel works great for my sister.

This will sound odd, but look into the Pink line of products as well. I'd stay away from Pink Oil (it has an odor that is just not bad...but not good) but the hairspray I've found (or rather my sister has found) works extremely well!

Mom finished up our FE gifts today! Woooo hoooooo!! We were so nervous about how they would turn out but I guess they look good! Haven't had a chance to check out the final product yet!!

I can't believe NEXT WEEK at this time we will be ON the Dream!! It's so surreal that it's actually time!! :)

I'm debating on bringing one pair of heels with me. I may just stick with flip flops. After the disaster this weekend with my heels, I'm angry with them! I decided I would be the smart girl and wear them to the Maroon 5 concert Saturday night. I was like if my feet hurt, I can just sit down (we had seats that had an actual seat) Well this older couple wanted to trade seats with us. The woman was short and they had pit seats so she thought she might not be able to see over everyone. So we jumped at the chance (hello, directly in front of the stage and 10 feet from the love of my life Adam Levine?! YES PLEASE!!!) Only the pit had no seats. About halfway through the show my feet were screaming at me. I had to take my feet out of my shoes and stand on top of them. My toes were numb by the time it was over. And I wear heels ALL the time so my feet are very used to them. We had to walk back to our hotel which was like maybe a quarter mile from the arena. I took them off and walked barefoot. I didn't even care. I wanted to throw the shoes in the trash at that point haha BUT - it was worth it because I could see over everyone and got some really awesome pictures! YAY! But back on topic here, is anyone else bringing heels with them?!
