It's Officially Official

Well it is officially official... I am not going to my most favorite place on earth this year! It will be February 2010 at the earliest unless I hit the lottery or something. *crosses fingers*

I have put off coming to terms with it and tried every way in the world to come up with a way to go but there is just no way with school, sports and especially moving into a new house that needs some updating, that we can pull it off. It's so funny because I am so excited about the house but also depressed to the lowest possible point at the same time because I can't go to the World.

I knew if anyone would get it it would be this board.. everyone else looks at me as if I am nuts. At least I have a new bathroom to decorate in Mickey.. I guess. It just seems sooo far away!

Think of it this way...now that it is March, it is officially less than a year away! :D Due to our second baby, who is due in June, we're not going this year either. We're really hoping for next April and we're almost to the point where I can say it's only a year away. LOL I'm kind of bummed about not being able to go this year, but I'm trying to be an optimist and think that by skipping a year, the place will be newer and fresher when we do go back and that it will be more magical since it will be our first time there in two years.

I too am skipping the World this year. This will be the 1st year in a long time that we haven't gone. We are planning a trip right after New Year's with the whole family, and we want to stay at a deluxe resort, so even if we went during free dining this year, with gas, hotels, etc., it would still cost plenty. However I did go to Disneyland in Jan., but it still wasn't like going to my second home.

Our next trip is planned for February 2010, although we did go in January. But unlike a lot of people who get to go every few months or so, once a year is about the best we can do. It's under a year now and there are other things we'll be doing while we wait...:)

There are plenty of people in your boat. I try to think about how sweet it will be when I finally get there again. I really have no idea when I will go again, I know I will, but when is up in the air.

We didn't get to go this year either but are planning to return to the world Jan/Feb. '10. As our girls get older it gets harder and harder to get away for a week with school, sports and other activities. We are crossing our fingers that we can find a week with the least amount of conflicts for '10. We will take this time to save up our money to be able to afford staying at the Boardwalk or Beach Club.

my trip

see, i was in your boat last year due to the birth of my second daughter and my wife being out of work for 8 months because of it we couldn't afford to go with my family in Oct. then i started school and i can't miss any time for the 1 yr program i'm in. BUT now this october we'll be making a trip back it will be my baby's first trip and i'm so excited to get her her first mickey ears! the wife ani i were supposed to go to europe with a stop off @ DLP but my daughters mother took my oldest daughter to WDW in Feb and that's all she can talk about so we made the decision to hold off on Europe and do the WDW as a family. i want to know when will they be announcing if they will be doing the curent promo in Oct. or what other things they have up their sleeve. but i feel all your pain 2008 was the first year i mised since 1988 so 20 straight years i guess i could take a year off lol

We had to skip last year because I was pregnant with our first baby and we moved into a new house.. I was so very upset about it.. Mostly because I was getting used to going to the World at least once a year, but partly because I wanted to have one last grown-up only vacation before our daughter arrived.. I survived the wait, barely.. Once I found out about the 4nights/3 free deal, I convinced my hubby to go this May.. Having the wait for the year is making this trip that much more exciting and special.. We can't wait now..

Same here. I keep pricing out trips but I know I can't go for at least another year. I, too, bought a house that needs some updating and it will be my dream house once I am done. Lost my job back in December, too, and although I am working again, it a for a lesser salary. Next year ... :)

We're in the same boat here. My DW wanted to take a year off anyways and do something different. But we were going to look at doing DL instead so I'd at least get my Disney fix, but with the economy and my work just announced a 10% pay cut (at least I still have a job) I don't think we are going to do any of this. Hopefully next year.

I knew if anyone would get it it would be members of this board! I know that it will be all the more sweeter when I do get to go and like I said I am so excited about the move. I think I just got really bummed out because I found the kid's list of ADRs they wanted to make. We were letting them choose all the places to eat this year. I really wanted that free dining again! But I am being an adult here and doing the right thing I know.. the kid in me is just a little sad.

Sorry to hear that some of you guys are in the same boat but at least we can all look at others trip reports on here to get our fix.

BTW Congrats SBKline on the new baby on the way! :)
