Oh Duckie! How wonderful for you! You can do lots of extra things with a wedding as far as Disney touches go! I only wish I could help ya! When I worked at Michaels we had some really cute favors...glass slippers and horsedrawn carriages...LOL Great favors! Put little bows on the slippers and some tulle..I miss helping with weddings! It was one of my favorite things:( My friend Lisa just got married last weekend...which meant that if I had gone to the meet, I could have gone to her wedding too:( Oh well;)
CONGRATS! And keep those ideas coming!

Sorry about the bridalchat! LOL!

Thanks so much MKCustodial, Alberrisford, Tramp, Dawn S, cac2889 and Tigggrl!

Since Noah and I are paying for this, we are making the decisions. This way, no one's feelings are hurt.

Dawn, we are definitely going to make sure this looks like our wedding and not someone elses! Thanks for the happy thoughts. :)

And Tigggrl, Noah has asked that I leave the Disney theming out of it (although I think I found a small loophole! ;) ), but my maid of honor is a clever one and she has already promised to make my veil. :) Michaels is definitely on the list! LOL!

Well Duckie, if there isnt a small bit of Disney incorporated into your wedding, it wouldnt be YOU! Small subtle touches Im sure can be passed by his unsuspecting eye...LOL
( I guess the Mickey and Minnie bride and groom Bobbleheads are out of the question as a wedding gift??)
I hope you enjoy all your planning!:)

Actually, assuming we ever decide on a wedding song, I did ask if we could play the instrumental beginning of "When you wish upon a star..." before we dance. :)

That would be beautiful!
I have been to a Disney wedding, and I admit, to me it was a bit much! I like the idea of incorporating small details into the wedding, and you know Belle and Beast or Mickey and Minnie will be atop our wedding cake:)
If you need a discount on something from the park....let me know;)

Aww, thanks FanofDisney1981, Tink, and Angelique!

Yep, Tink, and if you had gotten to LVI a little earlier last Friday, you could have seen how it's going. ;) :hurl: ;)

Angelique, I suspect this is going to have to be like finding Hidden Mickeys at my wedding, too. ;)

I'm Catholic too, and I've been thinking about it. I mean, fro us it'd really be aout of the question to get married at WDW not only because of the price but Catholic priests won't marry anyone outside a church (I think). Renewing the vows would work, I suppose (for you I mean, not us, it's way too much to spend in dollars! :D ). But you can incorporate something on the clothes, the decoration of the church, and I'm sure you can have a ball at the reception, since it has nothing to do with the religion per se. At least that's what I tell my mom, but I don't think she buys it... :p

Ohhhh Hidden Mickeys!!!! :) Fun.. (you could even have a contest for the kids, keep them occupied at the reception ;) ).

What style do you want your dress to be?

Yeah... Catholic Priests can´t marry out of a church anymore. At least here...

I´m not sure if I would incorporate many Disney things to mine (if that ever happens!) but I would probably use some Disney songs for the reception, for our first dance(s). For instance, "Can you feel the love tonight" or "Beauty and the Beast" or something like that. :animwink:

I remember a news story a while ago that a couple got married on a ROLLER COASTER and i think it was a priest who married them... and rode the coaster with them!! (How about that? A happy news story!!!)

Duckie, I have a song that is really nice, and probably never heard at a wedding, so it would be really unique for you. It's called Say Once More and it's by Amy Grant. Here's some of the lyrics:
Let me say once more
that I love you
let me say one time
maybe two
that I love the way that you love me
and I want to know more of you

another part;
I call your name
you look my way
it's clear you trust each word I say
when life is long and problems come
you'll always be my only one

The song is on her Lead Me On album

Debbie, thanks! We'll look into that (we can't have too many suggestions at this point!)....

(btw, how close is the ya ya book to what it's really like in Louisiana?)

Ooooh, Angelique.... No children at the wedding. No way. Formal. Adults. No kids. Sorry, I know I'm a teacher (and I know many of you are reading this and thinking I'm selfish!), but my wedding is a kid-free zone. Noah will have four nieces and nephews under the age of three--no way. Not happening. Those are the only children of people invited, and it's just not going to happen at a formal ceremony and reception.

Am I the only one whose parents used to go to weddings and just say, "I'm sorry, this is just for grown-ups and you weren't invited," and I'd stay home and watch movies and eat popcorn?

Anyway, I want a white dress (maybe natural white, but not ivory), strapless, sweetheart neckline, very little beading or anything on the bodice, floor length with a chapel length train or shorter, no tulle, no chiffon, most likely a ball gown or a-line silhouette but not too poufy because I'm tiny. :)

Not too much to ask, eh?

I may be one of the few parents who understands that if the children are invited, their names are on the envelope! (usually the "interior" one) If it's not there, they aren't invited! (sometimes it's hard...a friend's daughter got married recently. My daughter's oldest friend was maid of honor...my daughter's name wasn't on the envelope...that's life.) Another time, my children stayed in the hotel room while we went to the wedding and reception of a friend's out of state wedding (we were visiting relatives a few hours away for the rest of the week) If parents can't be parted from their children for a few hours, or if they're unable to find a sitter, then they might have to stay home. (mighty, I know you're hoping that will happen. ;))

Ohhh the dress you want sounds pretty. I'll keep my eyes open out here lol. Hmm.. that gives me an excuse to go shopping on Rodeo ;).

Hmm.. I didn't go to many weddings as a kid at all but when I was at my best friend's wedding up in Canada we had a few there. Just her flowergirl and such. They were soooo adorable, but got bored sooooo easily.
