It's Cold

Not unbearable here, but still too much snow. Tomorrow is March. If all snow is not gone by tomorrow, I'm going groundhog hunting.

Reasons I am DONE with winter...
1. It's March
2. It snows on weekends, so I don't get any school time off
3. It snowed today, and it didn't even stick, but it's still cold, and not pretty.
4. It gets above freezing during the day, then freezes overnight, making the roads icy in the morning.
5. Asthma already makes it tough to breath. Cold air makes it impossible.
6. The germs sit inside, incubate, multiply, and make everyone sick.
7. There's no football, and there's also no baseball (on TV, that is). So now I'm bored
8. Sun is hiding
9. Car is cold in the morning
10. Frost on car in morning
11. Snow on car in morning
12. Can't go swimming.
13. Can't go outside if I plan on breathing today.
14. Winter dry skin
15. Winter dry scalp
16. Coats.
17. Too many overcast, migraine-inducing days.
18. Road salt on the car.
19. Less light hours
20. It's cold.

It's low 30s upper 20s here today. Found out a bit ago that we are supposed to get 6-10 inches Monday night into Tuesday. I feel like winter is trying to get back at us for the warm weather we had in January and early February. Now is not the right time for cold and snow! Now is time for 40 and 50 degree weather. I hate winter.

I KNOW people up in the freezing states will not care much, but its been cold here, too. It was 42 degrees in the AK today. A lot of people bought those white Yeti hats and were wearing them. Lot of people bought blankets and wrapped up in those, too...the new, red Minnie snuggli one seemed popular.

But, as I admitted to dear sis when questioned, No, it wasn't 18 degrees and No, it wasn't snowing.

But it was cold.

Our St. Patrick's Day Parade celebrations here in Belmar (which for some reason take place weeks before the actual holiday) keep getting interrupted by snow flurries. Hopefully tomorrow morning will be snowfree.

Oh, when I was there at the end of January, it was in the eighties several days, and the coldest it was during the day was about 65 :D

South Florida Cold Weather Update

* I purchased some frozen Boca Burgers for my wife tonight, and they felt a little colder when I handled them in the parking lot of the grocery store. How long must I endure these conditions?

* I had to check the weather report to see if I have to cover my fruit trees tonight, which I don't. Why must I be tormented with these false alarms?

* I'm wearing shorts around the house, but my legs feel colder than usual. Why must the righteous suffer?

* I wanted to eat some ice cream tonight, but I had to switch to an eclair instead. When will these winter blues go away?

That's it for now, but keep me in your thoughts as I endure.

Big storm is coming for the east coast that may or may not dump a ton of snow on New Jersey on Wednesday. No matter what it does the thing will be bad enough to cause coastal flooding (yet again).

And to anyone in Virginia: You are getting the worst of the storm so have fun with that.

Snow supposed to start Tuesday evening and continue to late Wednesday night. Supposed to get 5-8 inches. Most snow MD's seen all winter. In March, of course. If I don't go to school until Friday or Monday, can't say I'll be sorry. Just as long as it warms up by Spring Break at the end of the month.

So much snow. It started during the middle of the night and didn't stop until around 3 or 4 (central time). It was steady all day. Shoveled three times during the day. Once in the morning, once in the after noon and once about an hour ago. The snow plows finally came around right before I went out last time. The mound of snow that the plow left at the front of our driveway went up to my knees. And I'm 6'3! Oh, and after he got done plowing he decided to turn around by backing into our driveway a little and smashing the snow down so that we couldn't get it up! To me there was just no common sense with that. He almost hit our mailbox and our camper that we have in our driveway.

With this storm, schools all across the area and beyond were closed. Many closed last night before any snow had fallen. Even the college closed, and they typically don't (although they did once during exams before Christmas). Typically the college closes once every two years or so. I just can believe how the snow was constantly heavy for so long! We probably got 8-11 inches. Good thing the winds weren't bad (although they are picking up a bit now) and it's not bitterly cold. Of course, it's still too cold for my liking.

End rant.
