It Was a Grand Fantasyland Opening Indeed!

What – The Fantasyland Grand Opening!

When – December 5-7, 2012

Who – Jenell - @GrumpysWife - and Myself!

Why – Well because we could of course! And also, the agency got an invite to the grand opening festivities and awesome owner Pam sent Jenell and I as representatives. The catch was that only one of us could get in to the official festivities, but hey – I had a newly purchased Annual Pass from my November trip, my camera, and a free room at Beach Club with Jenell. I wasn’t complaining! :) Here we are:

Wednesday, December 5th –

We were only going for two nights, so we had to make the best of it! We left crazy early on the first day and came back late on the third day! I was meeting Jenell at the Baltimore airport. I usually fly out of Dulles, which is much closer, but this was good for Jenell and we got an awesome rate on Southwest.

My dear hubby drove me all the way out there before going to work that morning. We left the house at 4 am! Yikes! Jenell arrived a few minutes after me and we had an uneventful flight down. We even landed about 40 minutes early! Yay! We were actually on Magical Express at the time we were scheduled to land, which I think was 8:45 if I remember correctly.

We both caught up on some work on the way to the Beach Club.

Oreo bon bons .... MUST ..... DO ....NEXT .....TRIP!!! I could eat about 12 of those!!!!!!! How could I judge you for eating ONE!! You have outstanding self control!!!!!! LOL

I may have misled you. :D I did not eat just one! I ate 2 at that time and a few more over the next couple of days. I was just confessing that I ate the one that was on the bench. I'm sure it was unsanitary. :)

And yes, you must go get one. I will be getting them on every trip from now on!

I really did not need to be made aware of that oreo bonbon. Seriously... this forum is just against my weight loss and for making me fat! LOL! :D

I am seriously jealous of the swag... specificaly the pin thing. I have one of those I got downtown years ago where it's a drawing of cindy castle with characters in pin form. One of my very favorites!

Lol! I'm sorry. It is a dangerous thing to know about. :)

That sounds like a cool one you have! I have an old one too, but I'm racking my brain to figure out what was on it. Where is that thing?!

I'm currently scouring eBay for a Test Track sun shade. Need one!

Haha! It's very cool!

That Oreo bon-bon is making me drool! Now I have one more reason to make sure I get to Beaches and Cream on my next trip. I'll have to make a little side trip after to get some of the bon-bons for later. I so would have eaten it after putting it on the chair also!! Can't wait to read more. We didn't get to explore as much as I wanted when we were there, so I'll have to see it through your pics!

Yes! You must make it over there. Of course Beaches and Cream is a good reason all on its own. :)

So glad everyone didn't think I was gross for eating it off the chair. :D

Here we are – Epcot! I think walking into the first park of each trip is one of my favorite parts of every trip. It just makes me happy to actually step inside! :)

Stepping inside and seeing the Eiffel Tower doesn’t hurt either.

We ended up in France for lunch. Santa! Or Pere Noel, I think he’s called?

My sandwich was okay. Nothing to write home about.

After we ate, we decided to see if Test Track had any soft openings today.

Well it was open, but the line was 90 minutes! Luckily we thought to ask about single riders. 10 minutes? Yes please.

We’re in!

Single rider’s queue was pretty empty:

Back outside. It was empty because the soft openings ended while we were inside:

The stage was set up for the media party the next day:

When were walking, we passed a guest chewing out a cast member because he couldn’t ride. Yikes.

So overall I enjoyed the new Test Track. I wasn’t blown away, but I enjoyed the new concept!

We walked back to Beach Club so Jenell could get to her first activity and I got ready to go to Magic Kingdom. When we were at Disney in November we had been in Fantasyland, but only at night. I was hoping to get some daytime pictures today. So we walked!

Up next, Magic Kingdom!

Just those couple shots you took on-ride get me even more excited for TT2.0. I've watched two or three videos but they didn't capture it quite like those did. Very cool!

Hi Tammy! Long time lurker- first time poster! I always enjoy your trip reports and beautiful pictures! I agree with you about TT 2.0, I enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. Keep the updates coming, it helps this college student get through the first week of classes :D

P.S. You're helping me and my mom plan our trip to DLR in March. Just thought I'd introduce myself on the boards :) -Emily

Oh good, Jenn! I tried not to take too many and just enjoy it, but I had to snap a couple!

im loving your pictures, tell me, how do you do it lol..what kind of camera is that?

Thanks nc_disneyfreak! It's a Canon 5D Mark III, but I promise, it's more about knowing how to use it then it is about the camera.

Although it is a crazy nice camera. :D
