We're here! Just waiting for my best friend to pick us up.
It was good! We got a watermelon blast that was some watermelon soda with ice cream and trix cereal on top. Very sweet, but it was good. We're sharing most things so we don't get too full and so I don't eat too unhealthy. The food looks good, sorry you had bad luck with rides. At least the avocado stuff on the tostada looks like it could be brushed off fairly easy and not spread all over for you. How was the Coke bar at DS?
Hi right back at you guys!Welcome Home. You've been missed and James says hi!
Yup, it's too bad we can't try as much food by getting two entrées but we haven't eaten way too much in a sitting yet and I don't have to feel bad about wasting food this way. Pretty good deal all things considered. It was good! We got a watermelon blast that was some watermelon soda with ice cream and trix cereal on top. Very sweet, but it was good. We ate a bunch of food festival stuff... China is amazing! The tostada was fantastic except for the avacado foam because it has cilantro. We had bad luck with rides... Every time we wanted to ride something, it went down. Imagination, down. SSE, down. Frozen kept glitching so our 30 minute wait turned into a hour. But we did get to do Soarin' and got front row at the end towards the middle, so no dangling feet and no bent eifel Tower. Fantastic! We also did LWtL and the one in the Mexican pavilion. When SSE went down, we headed to DS for the Coca-Cola rooftop bar.
Germany :schinkennudelen and apple strudel with vanilla sauce. The apple strudel was so good, but I wouldn't get the cheese pasta again. It was ok, but the cheese was too chewy.

Alps: Warm raclette with fingerling potatoes and baguette. We ordered ours without the pickles. It was good until the cheese cooled and wasn't melty. You can also get it with ham.

China: pan fried chicken dumplings and a crispy duck bao bun. Both were fantastic and I went and got another bao bun because it was so good.

Tostada with pork something... I know there were beans, and some sort of cheese, and I think chives? I loved it, but would get it without the avacado or guac Mousse, whatever it was. It had cilantro in it and I hate cilantro. Without that, it would have been perfect.

Oh good!!! Glad you didPlease don't feel too bad, I really liked it.
Not a thing there? The potatoes were really good, but the cheese got gloopy really quickly. We discovered it was best not to get a LOT of cheese on the potatoes and I didn't eat it with the bread at all.Baguette has no place being served with raclette.

That's a nice photo of you and your daughter with a few of the singers. I've always enjoyed the Voices of Liberty. (Since I haven't been down to WDW in over 5 years, I was wondering if the women singers don't wear the longer dresses anymore, or if they just wear regular dresses in the hotter months.)Apparently Kate only subs now, which is sad, but they have a new soprano who is pretty good. I noticed a couple of new ones who have some trouble with the higher notes, but I'm sure they will get there. They hit them, but I could tell it was a bit uncomfortable and they really had to push. But when the practice, they'll get it. I have such a hard time not singing along!
I think she (and a few of the other well-known veterans) mostly focus on Voctave now.Apparently Kate only subs now, which is sad, but they have a new soprano who is pretty good
No, they stopped having them wear the period costumes around 2021 if I remember correctly. I actually miss the old costuming because it represented the USA during the colonial times which so many of their songs are about. That's a nice photo of you and your daughter with a few of the singers. This 100%.If Rise made you sick, you dodged a bullet with not getting to ride Smuggler’s Run.
That look glorious!
This was a half wheel that they scraped off over the potatoes and pickles (if you got pickles, but we asked for no pickles) and then they gave you a bit of baguette on top.No, not with raclette. Raclette is always melted cheese poured over potatoes. The cheese can either be from a large half wheel, which is heated on one side and then the melted cheese scraped off (hence the name raclette, because to scrape is “racler" in French) or now you can get machines that have little spatulas that you put a slice of cheese on and then slide under a heating lamp.
And cheese fondue is normally served with bread that you dip into the melted cheese (which stays over a burner/flame to keep it liquid. Many restaurants here will now give you potatoes if you ask (I would imagine because of gluten allergies) and I like having both.
The cheese used for raclette is not the same as the cheese(s) used in fondue.
During the pandemic, they had to move outside to the big stage, so they couldn't wear those big heavy dresses. Now they are back inside, but the new costumes are still being designed. They lost a lot of their singers when they closed for Covid and they have a bunch of new singers, but now they need new costumes. That's a nice photo of you and your daughter with a few of the singers. Krista told us they are going to get period clothing again eventually, but it takes a while and it's expensive to redesign. But they will eventually go back to something more old school. No, they stopped having them wear the period costumes around 2021 if I remember correctly. She did add that it was supposed to be more modern and also still period clothing at the same time. Nobody seems sure about what that will be like haha.Krista told us they are going to get period clothing again eventually, but it takes a while and it's expensive to redesign.
