Then we went across to LWTL and Soarin ' which was awesome because we got first row middle. It was so cool. There was a little boy about... 4 or 5 maybe and he jumped every time there was a transition and then as soon as the ride stopped he started sobbing. I didn't know what happened because he seemed enthralled, but then I heard mom say "otra vez" and my good friend Google says that means "again". So apparently he was very sad that the ride ended. It was adorable!

We were waiting for a POR bus when this large family was headed in our direction, with 2 kids in front around 5-6 years old and they looked like they were racing. They were running full-tilt, which is already a bad idea at Disney. Then the little boy used his hip and elbow to shove the girl aside, she slammed into the gate things and maybe a trash can next to it... At any rate she went flying and then hit something and she started screaming in pain. And then I got super ticked at the dad, who says "I'm sure it was an accident". And an older boy probably around 12 says "Dad, that was OBVIOUSLY not an accident!" and the dad is insisting it was when it was clearly not! And I'm sure he was trying to diffuse the situation, but that sends HORRIBLE messages to kids. You tell the little boy that he can purposely hurt someone (and she could have gotten seriously hurt!) and just say it was an accident and you won't get in trouble, and you tell the girl that it's OK for someone to abuse her and she's not allowed to be upset because we can't accuse people... We have to be nice and pretend it was an accident. Fortunately the mother seemed more on top of things and she went and had a little chat with the boy who then started having a tantrum because he was being held accountable for his actions. He starts screaming, runs away from her, shouting "leave me alone!" which she did not. They were not getting on the POR bus so I don't know how it ended. The dad had to pick the girl up and carry her, but I hope she's OK and it was nothing serious. She hit soooo hard.

And now we are freezing at POR River Roost waiting for Yeeha Bob.

Shout out to Jessica who brought us hot chocolate even though it's not something they serve there, because we were FREEZING inside. The heat index outside was somewhere around 115 degrees, and then we go inside and it was like a freezer. I put my sweatshirt on, I changed into long leggings, and I was still cold! Once the show started and we were up and down and spinning in circles and making Tarzan calls, etc, we were fine.

Then we had to get back to our resort and we sat at the bus stop and the board just said "use bus" to Disney springs. All the parks were closed. A bus pulled up that said "flounder", so I went and asked if he knew when the next DS bus would be there. He said he'd take us back to Epcot and we could catch a bus from there back to our resort. We thanked him siclncerly because we thought we were stuck. Then he said he was a floater and it was just us, so he just brought us back to our resort. Apparently the skyliner had gone down and he was put in as a replacement and then they just say "ok, now you are a floater. Go pick up people and get them to their resorts. We had a nice chat with him while we rode back. Shout out to Kenny from Orlando! And before we got off the bus, he gave us each one of these.

Yep, we've had excessive heat warnings for a few days. It's stupid hot! Yesterday we hung out and watched voices of Liberty. Today, we're heading to DS first to see if we can get into Gideon and then we'll go to MK. We still haven't done philharmagic, and we love carousel of progress, so we'll be able to stay cool.

OK... I know, u popular opinion, but I think Gideon's is over-rated. Was the cake good? Yes. Are the slices huge? Yes. Was it worth standing outside in100 degree heat for 30 minutes and paying $10 per slice for? No.

If say if you can't really bake, it could be worth it for you if the weather is decent or there's no line. But E and I bake all the time, our cake is every bit as good and I prefer less frosting...the ratio at Gideon's is WAY off... I'd be happy with like a fourth of the frosting. So we could make our own way cheaper and not have to stand in that sun to get it. We didn't buy any cookies because none of the flavors appealed to us. Again, we can bake our own. There's a place for it for people who CAN'T bake, but it wasn't worth it for us.

Man...this is tough! I'm craving cake right now and I am a frosting/filling person. So, those ratios are calling my name! While I can make cake, 30 minutes of waiting would be faster for craving gratification time vs. making it. Although, if I were waiting in the heat, I probably wouldn't want the cake once I got it 🤣 I'd probably have to bring the cake back to the room and cool off for a couple of hours before diving in to enjoy.

I'm not sure how they make their buttercream, but the texture feels crisco heavy. A lot of people use crisco instead of butter, but I'm not a fan. I guess that's the thing... I can make it more to my liking if I make it myself.

It's still stupid hot, so we gave up on MK. We did philharmagic, hall of presidents, carousel of progress twice, but Carrots and HM were both down, wait times were hideous, and we'd done all the indoor stuff, so we went to GF to hit Basin, listened to the pianist for a while, and now we are chilling at Poly until our Ohana ADR.

Dinner was good, but a bit marred by the screaming child. She couldn't have been much more than a year old, but they were in the lobby waiting at the same time as us, too, and they were rewarding her screaming by giving her more treats when she screamed. So the whole time at dinner, her screams would punctuate. And they were so close to us that it was LOUD. So glad when they left!

I know some of you have been able to recover photos from attractions that didn't show up in your app... Did you do that online or is there a physical place to look? Not one of our attraction pics has shown up except dinosaur, which we had to tap our cards for. I asked at frozen of there was a place to link photos and they said they would show up an hour after the ride, but we've ridden 3 times and none of them have shown up, nor have our haunted mansion or carrots pictures. I put in a claim for HM and the first Carrots one on our third day... It says you have to wait 24 hours. But it's been more than a week and they still aren't there. I described everything in detail and had times. I'd rather just go look through myself because it doesn't seem like they are very invested in looking. Is there a kiosk somewhere to do that?

I doubt there’s a way to look through pix yourself, but I have submitted requests online.

I have usually just made requests online either at the website listed in the post above or using the email/contact us feature in the app. One time, I think it was last summer, we looked for a photopass at Epcot there was a counter in the pin shop right by Spaceship Earth. I don't know if that is there anymore but I guess you could check. I wonder if guest relations has a way to look up pictures or maybe give you more information.
