My book arrived this morning! I forgot that I had placed two orders, one back in July and then another in August to give to my nephew up at Stanford for Christmas. It was the August order that is showing won't be delivered until October, but good 'ol Amazon delivered my first order today!

I am pouring through it, but this book is huge and very dense! I heard it thud on my front porch this morning while having my coffee before the Amazon guy even rang the doorbell. It's actually too heavy and big to display on my cocktail table, so I'm going to place it on the living room credenza for now once I get done reading it.

I like the shot down Main Street, but perhaps one with less people would've been better. Makes the whole thing seem crowded. Would've been fine with less fireworks as well.

I just looked at the cover on the real book that arrived this morning, and it's a fabulous photo actually. It's vintage, judging by the hemlines and hairdos I would peg the photo as being from about 1959 to 1961. What's interesting is that all the lights on Main Street are still on while the fireworks happen. Nightly summer fireworks started at Disneyland in 1958, but maybe in the early years of fireworks they didn't turn off the park lights like they do now?

Would you happen to know if this is a trustworthy site? As in it would really be signed by Tony Baxter and some fraud? Thinking about canceling my amazon order before it ships in the next few days and getting a signed copy instead.

I've heard they are reputable.

You got yours from Amazon and you ordered in July? I ordered in May and mine's not showing up for awhile.

My amazon order is now apparently arriving September 25th. Keeps moving up...may need to cancel my WM order given they appear to have zero clue when it's being delivered.

Thanks. Why is Baxter signing it anyway? Did he write the foreword? I forget.

I'm sure there will be enough photos of projects Baxter worked on to warrant his signature. That said, getting an excellent book signed by the author and the greatest Imagineer we've had in decades for $60+shipping? Easy decision.

Good point. It’s actually not the money I’m “concerned” about. It’s the fact that it won’t be shrink wrapped. Silly I know. Wondering how they ship it.

EDIT: I was also concerned if the company was reputable before Stevek replied.

The email I got after I ordered said this, for what it's worth: Your order will be packed well-padded and protected and in a sturdy container.

It may have been June, but it was at least a month or two before I ordered a second copy in August for my nephew. That second copy is not sceduled to be delivered until October 19th now. But I got my first copy on Monday morning, and it really did land with a THUD! on my front door.

It's a much bigger book than I thought it would be. The last one third of the book is titled "1964-2018" and details all the changes to Disneyland since before the original book was published in the early 1960's. Again, it's a huge book and very heavy. And its gorgeously bound and of very high quality. The hefty size of it took me off guard and it overpowers the scale of my cocktail table. So I'm displaying it on a long credenza now instead.

But what a great book for any Disneyland fan to own!
