need some advice I have booked a trip for DD 6th b-day and we are going during free dining. I want to alot of special things through out the trip but a few coworkers think I am going over board please let me know what you think. I want to book the Wonderland Tea Party, go to MNSSHP, eat at CRT and order the chocolate slipper for dessert, make an appt for Bibbidi bobbidi boutique, the middle package as I already bought her a costume, let her go to build a dino and I would like to take her to the new pirate makeover. Also for dinner 1 night I was going to order the surprise mini princess b-day cake and a couple of the new b-day things that are on the disney web site.
One of the reasons I want to do alot is due to the fact that I had a major health scare and didnt even know if I would be able to go on the trip and it made me realize that you never know what is going to happen to you. Everything turned out ok health wise but I still have that what if I am not around for her next b-day feeling.
Thank you for any advice or tips you can share with me

Well, I think it depends on how long your trip is. If you try to cram that all into a few days, it's probably too much but spaced out well it's doable. Make sure you are flexible on some things since it will all obviously depend on your daughter; if she's tired or burnt out cancel the pirate makeover and let her rest or go to the pool.

If you do MNSSHP, take it easy that day and try to get her to nap since it will be a late night. Don't plan anything too rigorous the next day; this is probably a good time to do Bippidi and maybe CRT. I think those two combined would be lots of fun and not too strenuous or stressful.

You have some things that you can decide the day of so I wouldn't worry  Enjoy your trip and what I'm sure will be a magical birthday!

Just playing devil's advocate here but the only issue I see is that you are setting the bar kind of high for then next birthdays. Personally, I say go for it and tell you coworkers to go pack sand in their butt.

Go for it. If my DD was little (she'll be 14 this summer ) I would do all of it to. I am also going to MNNSHP and going to try to make CRT adrs (this is a must we do it every time we go) I wish I could do the Bibbidi bobbidi boutique for her but she too big (I'll buy her some hair)

Im really want to do a pirate makeover for my boys (10 & soon to be 3) but I really want to see the items before I pick which package I want to go for. And Im also really want to order 2 cakes (on different nights) for the older ones since they are graduating Im thinking about one of those big mickey heads for him and a special one for her. But the way things are going I dont know if I could pull it off ($$$)

Hey It my be too much but they are only young once, and I have been lucky enough to go every year since 2002 except for 2006 (just had my youngest) and the way things are now a days you dont know if its your last one for awhile so if you can swing it go for it :D

Thank you so much for the advice I feel better about it! I know I am setting the bar high but this is the only time I can go all out at Disney World for her b-day. Master Yoda thank you for the words I will let them know next time they make comments to "pack sand in their butts" :ROFLOL:
I knew people here would understand!!

Life is for living - it's not a rehearsal for something else!! If you can afford it, do it - just maybe tell her that it's a special holiday and not to expect all this everytime :animwink:

Quick story, a collegue of mine and his wife have two precious little girls 6 and 4. They haven't taken them to WDW becuase they were too young and they were concerned about the crowds. This past winter the wife was diagnosed with cancer and died a couple of weeks ago. The kids never got to go to Disney with their mom and will never be able to have that experience. Carpe diem, have a great time and do everything you want. If it seems like too much, then slow down, but never let other people tell you what you should or should not be doing, life is too short.

First, your daughter is ADORABLE!

Second, it's is your child, your money, and your life. Not to sound all high school, but people who are nay sayers on this trip are resentful. I am hopeful, I would love to be able to do this for my children, when I have them one day.

Third, as far as getting it all done, go at her pace. If she needs a nap, no matter how old she is, let her sleep. If she's not feeling one of the activities, 86 it. After all, it's her birthday trip. :)

I agree with almost everyone here, It is a lot to do, but all of it sounds sweet and thoughtful so why not? Spaced out in terms of time it should be do-able, just dont overstress yourself and leave time to smell the flowers. As far as your co-workers, they are just jealous cause they arent doing any of it!!!! Belle

I agree that you should go for it!! I completely understand that your healt scare made you want to go way out for your daughters birthday. I lost my mom on March 14, she was only 53 and it has made me realize that life is too short and that you need to do the things that are really important because you may not get a "next time"!

Thank you all for your support I feel so much better about my plans. DD has also been doing chores around the house so she can buy a Pocahontas costume when we get to Disney and so she can get a spray tattoo so DD and Pocahontas can be tattoo buddies again like the last time she saw her.
