Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

It's supposed to look like the Golden Age of Hollywood, when the building was in its prime, and I'm pretty sure it didn't have those rust stains in the 90s, so they post-date the hat.

either way y'all need to stop griping about things that are really not a big deal and be happy that something is being done in the 1st place.... seriously...

It seems to me like the building naturally rusts (on and off)

Opening day photos show no rust and the photos fluctuate throughout the years

A photo that differs from @RAXIP 's images.

It's just something that I think would look better without rust. It's a personal opinion, clearly it is not yours, however it's something to discuss. If you thought everyone should have moved past it why did you even bother retorting? If it didn't matter why not just skip it and move on?

brand new the facade looked washed out and really fake because the colors that were there were to powerful and the colors that were not there ( highlight on the textures from wear) that are there now makes it look more real... I'm allowed to have my opinion too...

they were trying to replicate a real place not make a main street of our dreams... a real place that in fact did age and ages every day... im not and never have said it should look its age however the textures should have a darker tone the moldings etc, if you make it look like main street then its hard to imagine being in a real place in the time it was depicted. thats all....

Hopefully this gets some TLC from TCM ;)

But in all seriousness it seems like Disney just didn't do anything for years (say since 2001?) They figured nobody is going to see it if there's a giant hat blocking its view.

DHS reminds me of cleaning out a closet. It's a mess so you take stuff out and realize the stuff behind the mess is just as messy because the mess has been covering it up.

Since I'm in DHS a lot I have noticed that they are making improvements. In the last month or so I have seen the concrete out front power washed and repainted, the the show scenes in the ride have seen some cleanup and lights and visual effects are working that have been broken for years, they are even doing some electrical upgrades as well as fire alarm system upgrades. Time will tell as to what else they will be doing but there are a lot of little things that have already been done which are a very welcome sight.

I wonder, could we get AA upgrades in the GMR like in Spaceship Earth when Siemens took over? I sure hope so.

I've never been to the real Chinese Theater, but looking at modern photos of it, it does not have any stains or faded paint. However, I can not find a picture of the DHS Chinese Theater without them, so this is not a new issue or sign of neglect.

This is just the removal of a prop.

The destruction of Horizons in plain sight for six months was poor show.

It bordered on disgraceful.

Yes. And I don't believe Disney would do it again. They pretty well scrim everything they can now. Even mine ride had a pretty tall fence. This project just allows for no real means to do. Hard to have a 100+ ft. cover, and covering part seems weird.
