ok then lets take away most of the hand print blocks and leave maybe 10 haHollywood Blvd is set in the 1930s-1940s. The Chinese Theater opened in 1927.
The Hollywood that never was and always will be.Hollywood Blvd is set in the 1930s-1940s. The Chinese Theater opened in 1927.
they were trying to replicate a real place not make a main street of our dreams... a real place that in fact did age and ages every day... im not and never have said it should look its age however the textures should have a darker tone the moldings etc, if you make it look like main street then its hard to imagine being in a real place in the time it was depicted. thats all....
I agree and it kind of negates the whole "real place" idea then doesn't it.The Hollywood that never was and always will be.
In another world, not only were they too lazy to take it down (outside the 25), it got a new lease on life thanks to Wreck-It Ralph and is now "Vanellope's Castle"Oh really?
Who said real place. The only discussion worthy of note is the idea the it identified Hollywood Blvd. The "never was... always will be" really addressed that issue. The image that people had of Hollywood is really not in any way, shape or form how it actually was.I agree and it kind of negates the whole "real place" idea then doesn't it.
Well, one more night of work before the weekend comes. Excited to see what tomorrow will bring!

Mornings are for picking on the hat (or what remains of it.)Park opens at 9 again tomorrow.

Evenings are for picking on the Theater.
Weekends are for picking on each other. Get on your gloves...
either way y'all need to stop griping about things that are really not a big deal and be happy that something is being done in the 1st place.... seriously...
I wasnt talking explicitly in the paint that adorns the façade, I mean the areas below the metal frames and ads.It seems to me like the building naturally rusts (on and off)
Opening day photos show no rust and the photos fluctuate throughout the years
A photo that differs from @RAXIP 's images.
It's just something that I think would look better without rust. It's a personal opinion, clearly it is not yours, however it's something to discuss. If you thought everyone should have moved past it why did you even bother retorting? If it didn't matter why not just skip it and move on?

Does anyone else find themselves pointing at the BAH on their screen and laughing hysterically?
Cause it's making me giddy to see this thing be destroyed. And to those who are yapping that it's taking too long... NOPE, it's destruction should be slow and painful....
Well I'm a lady and don't want to wreck my nails... wait, I have short nails... Just give me a frying pan (who knew, right?) and I'll be all set.
Gloves are for pansies, real men go raw fist!
i agree !!! it was a great hat but was a wrong place...Lets just remember this is the first change of what many of us hope are huge changes and additions to the Studios. And like I said, I did not mind the hat, it was just where they put it that made me hate it. If they use it for an entry to Fantasmic then great. But that thing is probably headed for the recycler.
I think Disney knows that at this point, there's a reasonable percentage of DHS' daily attendance who goes into the park only to take pictures of the BAH for their blogs. They can't afford the attendance hit. They definitely don't need to put up a fancy printed scrim like those from the Main Street facade refurbishments, but a simple black or white tarp would definitely do a world of good for those "once in a lifetime" visitors to the park.
