Wouldn't that be funny if they used for a mini-hat out front, that would make everyone happy!

there are at least two layers of shipping cans full of stuff in this fillspace, i think this is where the 'hazmat'(asbestos remediation, lead paint) goes to rot, on property, oddly enough...
I'm surprised they still dare to charge full ticket now.
I haven't looked at the EPCOT Building Codes, but temporary in such terms is usually something like 90 days or less. Far too short for a year long event. In all seriousness... Was the Hat built to last how many years it has? If it was temporary when designed, was it engineered to sit there that long? Perhaps there's a number of factors to its demise.
OK, if you say so. As this progresses it will become more clear to both of us.
OK, you are correct. It wasn't really a super crane, but, a crane none the less. I stand corrected. I was envisioning a much bigger one then they used. I will also take this opportunity to correct myself on the torch vs. unbolting comment as well. From the pictures I saw it looked like a very straight line at the bottom and the top of the hat. Now that I have seen a close up it is anything but straight, so I concede that it probably was cut off with a torch for the most part.
Scrap Systems of Orlando. Google their website and that pretty much tells the tale.
speaking of closures.. how many attractions have they closed in DHS?

Maybe they'll build a pin store selling exclusively Sorcerer Hat remembrance pins on the site where it once stood.
To keep it thematically relevant, they could shape the commemorative pin store like a Giant Sorcerer’s hat.
Actually, it is fiberglass and was cut by a saw. If you look carefully, you can see the dust left by the saw all over the parts. A torch would have scorched the fiberglass. Now that I have seen a close up it is anything but straight, so I concede that it probably was cut off with a torch for the most part.
I wonder if that saw can also cut through the Epcot theme park tombstones.Actually, it is fiberglass and was cut by a saw. If you look carefully, you can see the dust left by the saw all over the parts. A torch would have scorched the fiberglass.
