I like how you said "they" as though you won't be a part of it!
I don't go that deep in these debates. LOL

hmm, didnt they closed the stunt show too?
That photoshop looks so fake. It's clear you just pasted a giant sorcerer's hat right in front of the Chinese Theater. You can tell because it doesn't match its surroundings.
It is making a lot of people happy. Side note, the hat wasn't a real hat just like the theater isn't the real Chinese theater. Nor the tree of life a real tree. And so on and so forth. So not sure how that is relevant. If the goal of removing the hat was to have a better view of a fake chinese theatre then i hope it made somebody happy. I think the hat was a nice focal point and looks good in pictures, but i think they were using it to cover a bald spot.
I've got a post you can postulate that thought with ... lots of us would be glad to help!I wonder if that saw can also cut through the Epcot theme park tombstones.
The website lists 11. Part of those are shows...not rides...so...meh...I'd almost rather they shut the whole shebang down and start work on everything right off...that way it really would be almost like a brand new park.speaking of closures.. how many attractions have they closed in DHS?
I'm surprised they still dare to charge full ticket now.
Ooooh! Look at that JAGGED cutting style! Yeah! This Baby is COOKED!
What I now see are two cranes, one medium sized and one tall one. Also in the picture is actually an extendable heavy duty forklift along side a scissor lift.I see 3 cranes, 2 "serious" and one "funny" .
Well I like that they told him "soon."

They will want this to move fairly quickly, I assume. The less photos and time this thing is cut in half, the better. I would not be shocked if the larger chunks were moved totally out of the park as they are cut. Also, I'd imagine the next ring will be cut in somewhat smaller pieces. Or squares. To make it be easier to lift, remove and fit. But who even knows.Doesn't look like a whole lot of laydown room in there either. So unless they get the tip out tonight, I wouldn't anticipate too much more coming down. I don't know where they would put it!
The Hat has become an overused cliche that doesn't mesh well at all with its surroundings. It has nothing to do with the Disneyland Hotel. It was slapped on a functional nightmare of a building in Burbank. And plopped down at the end of a street as some sort of celebration of a man who only ever knew its film as a commercial, critical and popular dud.In all fairness, the hat was to represent the park since Fantasia is an iconic Disney film and the park is about films. The problem was always its location. Hollywood is the place for movies, yes, but a huge hat in it, there is not.
Had this been built into the Animation Courtyard somehow or as a new entrance to Fantasmic!, the hate problem wouldn't have been the same or possibly exist at all. Case and point, there's a giant version (albeit cheaper) of the hat next to the Disneyland Hotel in California.
Regardless, I'm so excited to get the Disney version of Hollywood Boulevard back. The hat was nice, IMO, but the problem always was that it covered up something so much nicer.

Sorry to bring up something from a few pages ago, but it is somewhat annoying because this thread was about the rumor which started six years ago. New threads were started in attempt to discuss the NEWS of the hat's demolition, and instead, mods closed those threads to force discussion back to this thread. So, a title change would be appreciated and appropriate. What is this obsession with changing thread titles? I can find at least a half dozen thread titles on the first two pages that are not longer technically accurate. It could become a full time job for the admins to keep up with thread title changes. This is not just directed at @maddie_odair since other people have also asked about changing the title.
