Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

Do we know what the real reason behind the removal of the hat is yet? Was it a maintenance, aesthetic, or contract issue? Or, maybe Starbucks said "Oh he[[ no, it's got to go."

Speaking of Starbucks... What are the odds Starring Rolls will be closed once it opens? I heard they were going to allow them to co-exist, but that is not Starbucks style (personal experience)
Bakery & Starbucks co-exist at Disneyland. Plus all the Joffreys in WDW

I don't know for a fact but I'd say it's VERY likely because of the agreement Turner Classic Movies has with Disney in sponsoring the Great Movie Ride. Can't be promoting the Golden Age of Hollywood with the BAH blocking the Chinese Theatre.
Removal has been in discussions and planning for a lot longer than the TCM deal came into the picture. It works out nicely to push focus back onto the GMR with the new sponsorship, though. TCM has no bearing on the hat's removal, however.

Yeah, it was meant to be there for 15 months. It was way past its time to be removed. With the sponsorship of TCM for the Great Movie Ride, it makes it a good time to shift the focus back to that, and to prepare for the future Studios 2.0.
Exactly.

Sad thing is, I went to Ball State for a year, when I first graduated high school.
Same quality of education I remember.
Hey. Ball State is a good school in Indiana. The TCOM program is one of the best in the country and has the benefit of having a good amount of support from David Letterman. You cannot take one instance and apply it to the entire college. Your brush is too broad.

We'll be there on the 23rd, and I'm hoping for the same thing! Although I think we might be being a bit optimistic, there's nothing wrong with that!
Agreed. I know it won't all be down but if the tall actual hat part was at least down that'd be awesome. Ultimately I want shots on the Blvd. without it behind me. LOL

I'm going to miss out on all the excitement. I decided to go in late November/early December to experience WDW during the holidays and see the Candlelight Processional for the 1st time. What that means is $,$$$ has been spent so will have to hold off for a bit.

The bakery is separate at DL (thank goodness). I don't see them getting rid of Starring Rolls in place of Starbucks- i'm sure that's one of the reasons why Main St Bakery was ultimately replaced in MK.

I got all excited because at a glance I thought the first picture was actually today but then I remembered that I already saw today's progress, and that those aren't the current construction walls, and that the spires were up on the theatre. Sad... Ha
