Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

So the hat is coming down but they've taken the spire off the Chinese Theatre... and no one noticed?
We're going to get so many "look how ugly it is without the hat" posts if they don't put it back before the hat comes down.

Maybe they're banking on people being "Yetified" and not even noticing the spire gone.

Wasn't it established earlier that the details such as the spires needed refinishing to being back their shine? My bet is that is underway.

The theater is still ugly with or without those spires. Personal opinion, but then I'm a bit biased against huge pointy monstrosities.

The spires haven't been on the building for quite some time. If I had to guess I would say at least 5 years. I know that the one that retracted for Sorcery in the Sky had a major failure years ago and if memory serves me correctly they removed them all after.

google maps is behind as the hat is behind walls, also don't they take photos of the place for this like every 5 months or something? If so then this picture isn't worth a thousand words.

I think it was a joke.

Could have been.
Definitely was.
I know. :)

I was referencing another thread about simply responding with "false". Er...Nevermind...
True.

Furthermore, no matter what thread we're on, I just want to thank @Bolt for the quality insight. I know there's more, but he's been getting a lot of flack lately. I appreciate the news. Genuinely, thank you.

Now, when can I buy my "Commemorative Actual Piece Of The Sorcerer's Hat" Pin?

Sounds like the lift broke. I wonder how hard it would be to fix that...

With the major work coming for the studios, are there other possible "theaters" that could replace what's there now? The Chinese theatre has kind of lost its sparkle to me, but what could they retheme it to?

No, it is. Trust me. I confirmed it with a Sun Country airline pilot. He and I were talking about how Disney is going to swap out the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom castle's for a temporary salute to Walt's love of castles, and it came up in conversation.

I personally am excited to see Cinderella Castle next to the Matterhorn...but that is a discussion for a different thread...

Edit: *Sarcasm :)
