Is the clock ticking on the Sorcerer Mickey Hat icon at the Studios? YES!

...The one thing that they did do right at the time was the bricks outside of the Magic Kingdom...

Yes! Now see, that was a good idea. The bricks can effectively stay there for as long as anyone cares to see them or easily moved in the event it should become necessary and they don't detract visually from anything. I dare say they're even pretty cool to look at, both from a distance and up close. Plus, cool things happen on them:

No doubt, the statistics would probably be a little eye opening!

I'd love to see the fountain restored too:
My vote goes in here too...the fountain (with lucite columns) looks so much more promising and majestic...without the fountain looks like something from the courtyard of a canadian hotel or some stuff...

I'd also like to see the palm trees re-planted (if they could figure that out).

I remember the first time I stepped off a bus and walked through the gates of the world famous Epcot. The first thing I did was look at the towering monoliths and think "what the hell is this? A war memorial!?" I was seriously freaked out...

I'm actually curious about all the merchandise that still has the hat on it. Once it's completely gone, will all remaining merchandise be pulled? For example, they have an Alex and Ani bracelet with the hat on it...what about when it's gone?

I really do not want to read through any of the 190 pages, but could someone please tell me when this will be completed? Would like to know if there is any chance of it being 100% gone by the time I get there in late march

Nobody knows for sure. They could have it done before that if they really wanted to, but if they actually will is another matter entirely.

Don't worry, there are many full time ebayers out there who will grab up anything with the Sorcerer's hat as the park logo on it and resell it for 10x it's current value... and people will buy it.

I'm willing to believe there are some who make regular trips to the Disneys simply to buy merchandise to resell, and write off the full cost of their trips as a business expenses.

Courtyard of a Canadian hotel? Huh?

It is still Yensid's hat from Fantasia and affectionately called Sorcerer Mickey's hat as well. It does not have to sit in the middle of a park for it to be part of Disney lore.

also agree the tombstones need to go at epcot (I would even be ok with them leaving them but taking off the mugshots)

The point of them was/is to remember guests who've died and the happy times they had at Disney when they were alive, so removing the photos but leaving the stones would be a bit of a PR disaster I think. Better to just move the whole things in one go.

Yeah, I try not too myself. But with three boys I have to every now and again. Also, makes for a nice A/C spot out of the heat, the Hallway that is. I wish they could do more with Innoventions. Hopefully there will be some changes soon as the Test Labs and IBM Think are going away now.

Look at the coverage of CES all over the press - never mind the lame science games, that's what Innoventions should be - a year round Expo of the cool upcoming stuff from all the leading tech companies.
