Is Poly worth the extra money??

Worth it is subjective, but if you are willing to spend the money-then Yes it Is!!
Tuvalu is my fave building, 3rd floor. Right next to the Luau Cove beach which is so peaceful. Gorgeous views as well! Although I don't think anywhere on property would have a horrible view. I love the music being played, the tiki torches, sitting in the hot tub with a delicious adult beverage, ordering tonga toast and macadamia nut pancakes from room service for breakfast, sitting and watching the water taxis, and the MK attractions before starting the day. The walking trails and entire ambiance is so unique, something that you can't get at GF, but it's great that you can walk over there to enjoy a meal :)

As for pools- I actually prefer the Poly pool to Stormalong Bay, especially with a child. But that's just personal preference. Also, swimming while the EWP is passing by while Wishes are in the sky- totally magic.

Here's a pic of one of my fave moments- if this doesn't make you feel like it is "worth it" to stay there then nothing will. It's making me want to go back tomorrow!!lolView attachment 149014

Th Polynesian is a must stay at least once. You feel like you're in Hawaii. The grounds are beautiful, the restaurants are better than good:D, the pools are so refreshing....
It is worth the extra $$$ to stay there IMHO. Dole whips, lava flows, Trader Sam's Grotto ( bar experience), 'Ohana, tonga toast, Kona coffee, and delicious sushi ( if you like it... so good).:D
@sxeensweet Staying at any deluxe resort is "worth it" IMHO.:)

I was there last week. I happen to get a really nice passholder rate on one of the DVC Villas. The room was terrific and had two bathrooms which was a bonus for our family. I can say that the Poly was worth every dollar I spent. The location can't be beat. Two pools, with poolside drinks and food service, beautiful landscaping everywhere you look, and a great staff. I can't think of a reason not to stay there other than price. Our longhouse was Tokelau, which is located right next to the Oasis pool. We were close to the main lobby, and had an easy walk to the TTC to head straight to EPCOT. This is the best Deluxe resort in my opinion.

Are 2 bathrooms standard in a DVC Villa studio?? Thanks

Correction..... I saw a later post.... But still confused... Lol- there are 2 showers, 2 sinks, and only 1 toilet?

Isn't it the cheapest of all the monorail resorts? And the standard rooms are the largest of any on property. Which is why the DVC studios are so large because they formerly were standard cash rooms.

So if you want to stay at a monorail resort, I would go with the Poly. We stayed in one of the DVC studios - loved the two bathrooms (however, if one of them doesn't have a toilet, I'm not going to call it a 'bathroom'). Our building was the closest one to the TTC. So when we wanted to go to Epcot, instead of taking the entire resort monorail loop to the TTC to get on the Epcot monorail, we just walked over to the TTC, takes about 10 minutes.

Yes. Poly studios are the only ones with two bathing areas. All the others have only one full bathroom. One bedrooms at BLT and Kidani have two full bathrooms.

Fellow DVCers, is it just me or is every DVC resort undergoing some type of renovation?

The first bath is a full bath. Sink, Toilet, tub with shower. The second bath has a sink, and a beautiful glass walk in shower with two shower heads.

If you think that glass walk in shower in the Poly studio is amazing, you should see the one at the GF Villas. OMG, that shower was HUGE. Twice the size of the one at the Poly.

I would have rearranged both baths. Lots of wasted space in the full bath. Careful design would have allowed either another toilet in the bathroom with the shower or a larger tub in the full bath.

is the OP looking at the DVC studios or the regular rooms?

They are different, both in layout and decor. You can even rent a studio on the website for less than a regular too though. As far as pricing vs other monorail resorts- my theme park view room at the Contemporary this year is a little over $100 per night less than Poly is. Maybe depends on room type.

But even if you go standard view, the grounds are still beautiful and I don't know any place that would be undesirable :)

And price....
Yeah, I edited/added to my above statement. The studios seem to be a little less. Same with BLT vs the tower at CR. If she is leaning that way, I still think it would be better to rent points and get them even less, as opposed to going directly thru Disney
