Is Innoventions really needed anymore?

A bell or a whistle would have been plussing what was there and not re-theming the entire pavilion.

:brick: No one said that it shouldn't have been rethemed, but they shouldn't have done something that went directly against the theme of future world. Lion KIng is popular, and so will Princess and the Frog, should they replace SGE in TL with one of these?

Naw. I think they should use the Incredible's but only after UoE gets a Monsters Inc overlay, TT gets its Cars overlay and the Land is converted to a Buy n Large store.

I mean by your reasoning Lion KIng is popular so because of that it would fit in well in TL. ANd what you listed there have been rumors of a MI over lay of UOE.

My god you need help. I said Nemo was a goof fit for the Pavilion. I never said it kept with the FW theme but it did not completely rape the theme as you have been implying. It took it from a science fiction theme to one of science reality. I have also never said it was the only option but it was the one with the lowest cost and much more guaranteed chance of success. What I have been stating over and over again and you just can't seem to understand is that what they did worked to the increase traffic and profitability of the pavilion which makes the re-theme in the eyes of Disney and many of the fans that could care less about a 100% cohesive FW theme a success.

You implying that what I said would justify putting the Lion king in TL is beyond moronic.

When you can show that the Nemo overlay did not increase guest traffic, guest satisfaction and the probability of the pavilion then and only then will you have an argument with what I have stated. Until then you are just wasting bandwidth.

Where is this?

You are doing the same thing you accuse me of, I agree that the Nemo overlay did all of this, and I never said it wasn't popular. But It completly doesn't work theme wise is all I am saying. You are the typical pro Nemo person the only answer you have is it is popular. Until you can prove that it fits thematicaly then you are also wasting bandwidth.

Once again I am not pro Nemo. I can simply acknowledge that it worked and the pavilion is better for it. I am also not caught up in the pointless "could have, have should" have argument like you are. FW is just fine with Nemo in it.

Again I agree it was a success and I enjoy the ride but there is really no saying that it fits the theme of FW. On another note Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage is in TL in DL I think that might be a worse fit, at least there is an aquarium in TLS.

I think they should moved the Carousel of Progress and the good parts of Innoventions into the Wonders of Life Pavilion and call it Progress City like at the World's Fair.

Yea I have thought about this as well but what would go where Body Wars and CC were? Also is there room for COP in the current Innoventions?

I used to work for Innoventions back in 2006 and I really hope they don't get rid of this place. As a Inno cm, we're in charge of Illuminations and the tip board. It's a wonderful place to work and the interaction I'd get with children and families of all ages was amazing. I don't think I ever had a dull moment in those buildings or outside before getting ready for illuminations. As long as the children were happy, that's all that mattered to me. I now work for Disney Quest and for a long time I thought they should've have gotten rid of those 5 stories a long time ago, I was wrong. It's inside, even more interaction and I've never seen children smile that big. And if I've learned one thing from working for this company is that if the children are happy, so are the parents.

I've seen the recent changes made from 2006 and it's a big step! Two years ago parents would walk in and ask me "What is this place?" Two years later, guests can't wait to come back. And the most important venue in there is "Where's the fire!?" Without that venue, children wouldn't learn about fire safety. So while it might be a little dull to adults, to children it's an adventure. *Shrugs* I'm happy with the way it turned out.

BTW...You all know my stand on Nemo. I'm not getting involved....I just have to say....Rich...How is FW for the better with Nemo, something NOT Futuristic? In terms of capacity and popularity, yes, but in theme? Nope.

In? No. Unless you take out the garden area behind Character Spot and Cocoa Cola and put it there. But then it wouldn't be connected to an actual part of the current Innoventions. I'd love to see COP come to Epcot as well but I don't think they are listening.

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't recall TLS ever being anything about what "we can someday expect out of the sea." It was, and always has been, a large aquarium with a few little tidbits of what they're "studying" there. Those poor manatees have been studied in that tank for over twenty years.

And those damn sea cows still can't smoke or ride unicycles like common monkeys, what a gip!

I agree with your point. TLS was always "big aquarium with restaurant" too me and it still is, but now I find it more entertaining and I find the learning aspects even more in-you-face than before. Only the 20K stuff that used to be on display is missed by me at this point.

Now I shall put on my EPCOT Center fanboi flame proof suit.

I think that Disney should put hotels in the parks that you try to get into, like the cinderella suite.

They could have the Cinderella Suite in MK.
They could have the Lions Den in the Tree of Life in AK.
They could have 2 in Epcot. I'm no sure where in Future World but they could have something in each country.
They could have a room in the Tower of Terror at DHS.

(I know that almost all of this is impossible but it would be cool!):lookaroun:ROFLOL:

The shape of the Inno building DO facilitate a ROUND addition, though....:king::lookaroun

I agree there....and a 20K/TLS Pavilion would have been interesting. Retro Futuristic and this Nemo would be more fitting than that one.

99.9% of paying Epcot visitors are not going to care that Nemo does not belong in Future World. And those are the people who keep WDW in business, not Epcot fanboys who sit at home on Disney message boards ranting and raving about every little minute detail in the park. :brick:

I thought that would be obvious. When United Technologies left TLS an un-sponsored orphan the pavilion degraded quickly. The sea cabs went bye-bye, the activities were out dated and barely functional and guest traffic went in the toilet. Then a great original attraction featuring a certain turtle was put in and life began to creep back into TLS. When this certain turtles clown fish friend showed up TLS almost instantly became one of the more popular places in Epcot. We got the sea cabs back along with a new dark ride, the displays are fun and interactive and the place is always packed. The only thing I regret was the loss of the Hydrolators (which IMHO was one of WDI's best illusions the have ever created) and the film the Deluge. If WDI could somehow fit in a small theater showing Deluge that you enter via a hydrolator The Seas would be just about perfect.
