OK arm chair imagineer.....What should have WDI done to The Living Seas?Ok but it still doesn't fit or belong in FW I just think Disney should think about theme always and it may fit a seas pavillion in DAK but not in FW.

I have never claimed that Nemo was the only way, nor do I think anyone else has. You have claimed that it was a bad choice in spite of the fact that it has been a financial success.I have claimed that it was the easiest way to transform the pavilion with an already established fan base, huge merchandising potential, and it was able to be done at a relatively low cost. I like the Atlantis concept but it has been done before and the change would have been incredibly more expensive with no assurance that it would work.1. Well there is the Atlantis theme ( and no it wasn't based off of the faliure Disney film) from the original concept.
2. Sea base Delta keep the same theme but put a new ride maybe a simulator or new thrill ride, like they did with SOarin and the land. A new ride especially if it was a trhill ride would have brought in just as many people.
Thats just two ideas, to claim that the only way to fix TLS was to make it a Nemo shrine is completely ridiculos.

I thought that the theme of the pavilion was exploring the seas and discovering all the wonders that it holds. I fail to see how Nemo takes away from that. It would appear that the almost endless stream of people now heading into that pavilion would agree.Bottom line is they took the very cheap and easy way out and sacrificed the theme of the whole pavilion.

He's the imbodiment of Imagination, which in turn, creates the future through innovation, creativity, and what about science...science...science...
I don't even know what that is?
This thread didn't even start out on this path! It'd be pretty hard to ignore it considering the title of the thread dosn't have to do with Nemo but with Innoventions.
Like I said I didn't bring Nemo up the Pro Nemo crowd can't justify Nemo being in TLS besides that he is popular. It is their only argument and they just can't come up with anything better.

Well it is supposed to be the future of this what we can someday expect out of the sea, kind of like Sea Castle in Horizons.
Please enlighten me as to what attractions regarding our future in the sea are now missing....and the hydrolators do not count.Well it is supposed to be the future of this what we can someday expect out of the sea, kind of like Sea Castle in Horizons.
We've rehashed it numerous times. You just fail to retain the answers. Or simply ignore them.
No one has ever claimed that a Nemo layover was the only way to fix the pavilion.
How so? It's the SAME pavilion it was before Nemo. They just repainted it. :hammer:
I don't know about anyone else, but I don't recall TLS ever being anything about what "we can someday expect out of the sea." It was, and always has been, a large aquarium with a few little tidbits of what they're "studying" there. Those poor manatees have been studied in that tank for over twenty years.

....In the FUTURE, however. That's not covered in TSwNaF....while it is a Future World PAvilion.:shrug:I thought that the theme of the pavilion was exploring the seas and discovering all the wonders that it holds. Good imagination! :lookarounI don't think my imbodiment of Imagination would be a little purple dragon. More like a half naked supermodel telling me to come hither. Oh wait, that's what's happening in my imagination......... :lookaroun

But would it have been as successful? As a general rule adding a bell or whistle to a tired product might gain you a little interest it will rarely have staying power.TLS was more the the experience of exploring and living in the Seas. IT was an adventure to a "future destination"...Almost as if they took Sea Castle from Horizons and built it. In that, you learned about our involvement in the Seas, and the tech to be used there. They could have easily rehashed that in 2006 with a new look, more to do, edgier approach....
Sure, if they rebranded it. Look at how Tokyo tackled Discovery Bay.But would it have been as successful? As a general rule adding a bell or whistle to a tired product might gain you a little interest it will rarely have staying power.

Yes, I think a 12/7/365 technology expo in the middle of Epcot is a great thing that they need in the park. Innoventions, by its nature, will be hit or miss, and you can argue that they don't really have too much compelling technology on display right now. But I don't think that's an argument that Innoventions shouldn't exist, I think it's an argument that Innoventions is currently being misused. This has always been my least favorite part of Epcot but at least when it was CC in Epcot Center it had some great new tech and was exciting. Now it seems to lack a cohesive theme and there doesn't seem to be much new tech or tech of the future featured there.
Future World shouldn't become less about the future. Nemo and Friends should not be the M.O. of the rest of the park.1. Since Future World is becoming less about the future could they do something better with the space?
If used properly, yes.2. Is there really a need to have two sides of Innoventions.
Probably. What should really take its place is more interesting displays of relevant technology and consumer products.3. Could anything elses really take it's place?
Wait. I LIKE THIS!they should rename it EPCOT Center...as a homage.
That seems like what they did.As a general rule adding a bell or whistle to a tired product might gain you a little interest it will rarely have staying power.
A bell or a whistle would have been plussing what was there and not re-theming the entire pavilion. That seems like what they did.
