If AK does get an Indy ride.. will it stay at Hollywood Studios?

The Frozen sign-a-long still shows at Studios even though the Frozen ride is at Epcot, the Little Mermaid still shows at Studios even though the Little Mermaid ride is at Magic Kingdom... seems having an Indy ride at Animal Kingdom with an Indy show at Studios would only be approproate...

Tony Baxter has always used Indiana Jones as his "go to" example on using a property differently for different parks. Unfortunately, every time he states his theory, it sounds like he hasn't been to DHS in twenty years.

Just to add, there's Nemo, Toy Story, and Muppets in multiple parks as well. And there's nothing wrong with that. The idea that everything from one franchise belongs together makes no logical sense, and alludes to an idea that studio franchises are superior to theme parks.

Yayyyy... pedantic time!!!...

Frozen's actually in three parks if you include Blizzard Beach summer games. Four if you include the holiday castle lighting. Need to find a way to get them into DAK.... top of Everest?

Also...

Nemo's in two parks.

Toy Story Franchise is in two parks.

BatB is in two parks and M&Gs in a third.. in two places with two costumes.

Muppets are in three parks: MV3D, GMiH in MK, MML in Epcot.

Not to mention the ubiquity of a certain mouse...

Woah didn't mean to start a thread derail. Just heard in the past the Indy site in Hollywood Studios was an expansion pad for new adventures... so was wondering if Indy comes to AK then maybe there's another land coming to HS. Back on topic..

The reason behind replacing DINOSAUR has nothing to do with the ride itself, as it is a fine attraction. The issue is that Dinoland, U.S.A. is currently a subpar land (thanks to Dinorama), and the concept of a dinosaur-themed land that takes place in the present day is quite limiting. They are not going to create a new themed land where Dinorama is and then have a random dinosaur-themed ride next door. Therefore, it will eventually have to be rethemed or replaced.

That's an excellent point. The land is present day: a present day dino-themed mom-and-pop amusement park on a dino dig site, a present day dig site play ground, and a present day time-traveling institute visiting the past.

If Disney were to do a dino land today, you would expect them to use the Potter-Pandora-SWGE paradigm and create a fully-themed, bermed-off land where you walk through a dino-era forest. The dino-institute is your passage to this land where the set up shop on an island that is doomed to be buried under lava in a few decades so as not to change the past.

@marni1971, have you heard anything new regarding what’s happening to Dinorama?, and have there been any new proposals for the Indy IP in WDW? Thanks for keeping us updated as much as you can :)

Ignore the prattle. If Indy ends up at DAK, the IP will leave DHS. And I believe the whole area from Echo to Star Tours and over to Indy will be razed including the entire Sounds Dangerous building.
