I was at BET at PI back in the day. I can assure you the thugs were there on the dance floor with their women throwing gang signs during the night. I've spent time in Cali so I know.
Yeah…”thugs”…

Red alert

Don’t you also say people get jacked/shot at in downtown Orlando all the time?
Can’t believe I made it out alive…

…must be nice in Ohio though 😎

You haven't been downtown O-town lately where after street shootings into the bar street crowd 2am hour each bar downtown that serves more than 125 persons has to hire 1 OPD during serving hours.

Ah yes. Pine hills. Where there are bars on the windows of the fire station and everyone parks in an access controlled parking lot with an 8' fence topped with barbed wire.

My most favorite place to visit when I worked for Orange County Fire and Rescue IT.

My family and I spent the last week at Disney. We almost always go mid June and it felt just as busy as it always has (minus the Covid years).

As someone who loves Disney, and travels there multiple times per year, my wife and I have decided to scale back and go do something else. I don’t mind spending as long as I feel I’m getting moneys worth. I no longer feel that the cost is worth it.

Yes totally understand what use to be but we know thats not a thing anymore but if they kept parks open until decent times its a fair middle ground and would win back fans… also would allow the crowd that does not have younger kids to get to parks later as well
But that would knock down SEVERAL of their houses of cards

They’ll die at the gates before they let you inside that “castle”

If someone is willing to pay that price imo they will pay it no matter what time its offered. Do they lose some people yes but imo they still get 85-90%
Some would…for sure

But I think all these things…”managed demand”…parties…”exclusive events”…”afterhours”…now genie…are all tied together.

They’ve been preaching…if we can all be serious and pay attention/interpret, that their product can be cut down, repacked, double or triple charged with little cost to the stock people.

Basically 80s/90s crack dealers - for lack of a better comparison.

But now with at least wdw attendance cratering (fact…for now)…the upcharge strategy is in perile.

How did it work in the fist place? Word of mouth spread that these “exclusive” Events were “great” because you escape crowds. Average crowds continued to rise as they have since 1970 in an extended good economy while they did NOT add enough ride capacity or park space to keep up.

So keep the same hours - designed for less crowds/slower travel periods - and it’s “swamped”…boom! Upsells.

Genie is tied to that too. Stay away from the peasants. That’s all this is.

You make excellent points and i do agree with them but i also think when the product you sell is stagnant and entertainment is cut parades are cut the list is endless that factors in as well. Lets also add in the fact that the “cult following” i believe once covid hit and the fomo is no longer as strong as it was and bam you have yourself a partial recipe for disaster.
I will leave politics aside bc altho it does annoy guests and probably plays a factor to some but i dont think it moves a big enough needed but imo definitely does as well. The Splash decision was brutal. You lose capacity & have all this downtime in a park that could have used some added life as well and Tiana would have been a nice addition to MK or any other park. Instead we close a classic only to shoehorn this IP.

I think they have very real park problems and politics make up almost none of it.

I think the bob(s) made a critical mistake. They played a kind of “business musical chairs” and the music stopped.

But I fire a lot of arrows at Disneys psychology and practices…so luckily for everyone else I miss alot 😎
