Iger rarely appears for Grand Openings unless it is a theme park. Years ago he supported his friend Adam Silver , NBA Commissioner when both showed up at the grand opening of the NBA Experience at Disney Springs.
It's not a surprise. Him and his cronies look down on the parks. They think they are for carnies

And with lower attendance, profits in the parks are up. Nothing but crickets for him to be pressured to vacate his role. As of 2023, Adam Silver , Iger 's friend was on the short list to replace him at Disney. Adam's contract as NBA Commissioner runs through 2024.

Maybe they can setup an office in the NBA Experience at Disney Springs. 👀

an example of another costly ridiculous decision made by Disney management

I can advertise a cow pie that doesn’t mean people will buy it.

…and yeah I hate Disney. It’s why I own multiple DVC contracts, have an annual pass, have been going for over 30 years, and spend time on a Disney forum
Great , you and I love supporting Disney and going on vacation there for many years. FL tourism and the local economy also thanks all of us !

Completely agree— which is why a fixed corporate budget would be better than his own dime.
I'm sure TDO has the numbers on what the average "guest" spends on their vacay, I would like for Bob to vacay the parks only using that sum and experience what the average guest gets for their money

I can’t recall ever seeing reports of him in the park as a normal guest... I can recall reading stories of Walt Disney himself standing in lines and telling his management team to stand in lines though.
I’m not sure he ever stood in lines but Eisner would visit the parks and experience them. If I remember right he made the “I’m going to the Super Bowl” ad idea while eating in the Plaza Inn.

Eisner was far from perfect but I felt like he at least got the parks and appreciated them for what they are.

Whatever love Eisner had for parks, the shareholders didn't buy it. With Roy and Stanley leading the Save Disney charge , they forced Eisner to quit. Doubt Eisner stood in lines pre Fast Pass. Eisner is doing ok, since he reached billionaire status, Iger soon to reach that level.

He's too busy successfully creating more quarterly profits with less attendance due to his directions to his team to make it happen.

How much strategy does it take to wave your pixie dust wand and raise prices ---not much effort in my book
Typical of any company besides Disney. Consumers accept it and buy into it in life. Easy for some to say when they don’t run a company and or small / big business. Sour grapes it seems.
