None at all.

Anyway, anyone who thinks that WDW dining prices are wildly high has clearly never eaten in a big city.

And if everyone who they built wdw for lived in Manhattan, DC and San Francisco…i would 100% agree with you.

I’m not even sure the prices are THAT bad right now? but they may “fix that”…it went nuts before the plague and the restaurants emptied out.

So that’s something to keep an eye on 👀

It’s not just about where people live. Vacations in cities like the ones I mentioned happen all the time. My only point is WDW dining prices, while certainly high, are on par with so many other places. Some people here act like WDW is the only place on earth with pricey dining.

And a lot of that goes into other factors, I went to a local beach this summer called point pleasant nj. Ordered a plain large pizza (16 inch) pie. Cost $32.00 bucks. 🤪 under normal circumstances would I do that?? Heck no but we weren't packing up our stuff, walking somewhere else and then coming back. So we accept the cost of going to the shore, no to mention having to buy beach tags just to sit on the beach
I hope you went to the Tiki Bar ;)

There are definitely dining related things Disney does that annoy me (the "Disney Adults at 10 thing, especially when alcohol is included in the price would be #1) but there are also plenty of options that aren't crazy and plenty of ways to save some $ on food

To me the price increase on tickets (especially how the person day price doesn't drop much until like day 7 now) and loss on onsite perks I think is way more of a deterrent to pick Disney vs other vacation options

It’s a little mix of all those things…I would imagine?

People always are “done” with these types of trips…usually they are replenished.

Seems that’s not happening now.

I don't think the Disney prices are that high, as someone who lives in Atlanta.

The quality is the problem. I can go to restaurants that are cheaper in Atlanta and still get better food, and restaurants that are priced similarly as most Disney TS generally have much, much better food.

I'm surprised that Disney/Universal don't charge more. Within the past few years, I've been a few Six Flags parks and their prices are even higher. If I recall correctly, there were $6 sodas in vending machines and I spent $40 for two people at Johnny Rockets. The same goes for Cedar Fair parks, as I just spent $50 at the Panda Express in Knott's Berry Farm for two people, a quantity of food that's normally priced at $21 for the location down the street.

Curiously, someone I know was shopping in a NC TJ Maxx this past week on the day they got a LARGE shipment of direct from WDW merchandise. She said there was LOTS of merch of all types, and the markdowns were pretty wild. She scooped up a bunch of stuff. That's all I know, but I thought it was an interesting tidbit to share here.

Our Local Discount Store, that is very regional(only six locations in two states that border each other) and I have suddenly seen Disney theme park both WDW and DL there, and some of it better items than Character Warehouse mall locations.

I don't know what is going on with Disney merch sales, but it is not normal

This past weekend I was in NYC and was charged $21.00 for a flat bread pizza that was the same size as Pinnocchios $12.79. Is WDW expensive? YES but the Hilton Midtown charged 64% more than WDW.

Wait... a hotel in the most expensive city in the world charged more for something than WDW?

Wow! TJMax is one of my favorite stores. I always find something good there:) But I have never seen a shipment of Disney merchandise there before. What a find:)

"Nearly half (49%) of 600 business leaders surveyed this month by ResumeBuilder.com said they won't give cost-of-living adjustments (COLA) to employees next year, and 26% said they either won't or may not give any kinds of raises at all. Of those who are giving COLA, 48% will give a bump of 3% or less. Additionally, more than half anticipate layoffs in 2024."

Bob:
This Is Fine GIF

It's not all bad news, however, but it's not great: "Overall, 74% of business leaders still said they planned to give raises -- but not to everyone, ResumeBuilder.com said. Half of business leaders say 50% or less of employees at their company will receive a raise, and most (82%) of the raises would be performance-based. If you're lucky enough to get a raise, 79% of companies said those raises would be bigger than in recent years."

That, coupled with higher interest rates, higher debt loads, and increasing defaults combined with a couple of years of high inflation should mean Disney parks will have a banner year in 2024... right? Oh that's right, it's all part of Bob's master plan that we have to let air out for a few years to get the stink out to find out just how brilliant and genius-like it is.

Well now, WDW isn't the same as NYC in my opinion. Pricing in some the big cities get pretty crazy, but I accept the challenge! Here are a few I know:

Baltimore is still pretty reasonable. For example: Nacho Mama's -with table service- still gives a free hubcap of chips+salsa per table. Menu has $15 quesadillas, $18.50 fajitas (LARGE portions), and $3.50 soft drinks. Though if you ever go, I highly suggest the crab and shrimp quesadilla at about $25. It has generous LUMPS of premium fresh crab. and we are not talking an ordinary quesadilla. It is a huge fried flour tortilla. Most entrees also come with rice and beans to die for. On top of that, you are surrounded by velvet Elvises and a shrine to native son John Waters. Can easily walk out paying under $20 with leftovers.

DC has California Tortilla where you can get a mean burrito bowl, chips, cheese dip and a large drink for under $15 before tax - $14.88

Detroit/Dearborn Coney Island has dogs for $3-4, with complete fries, dog, drink for $7.80.

Near WDW, PDQ in Winter Garden offers a complete crispy/grilled chicken meal with fries and drink for $9.50 - $11 before tax.

One place on WDW property that offers a great value is Blaze. You can get a generous pie with unlimited toppings and drink for $16 before tax.

Meanwhile, at Universal Orlando's Breadbox you get a sandwich plus side starting at $14, Others are $15-17. The soft drink is $4= so $18-21.

New Minions Cafe meals- including sides- run $13 -$18 ( $18=half rotisserie chicken, fries, and corn on cob), or ramen bowl $19, and drink $4.75. Most meals run $15 plus the $4.75drink. It is semi-table service where you order off electronic menu, and is food delivered to your table. So cute table serve meal for about $20 before tax.

Tampa also has reasonable QS options, inlcuding at least one Sweetgreen, where you get a super high quality salad for $15. They don't offer coke products, and have limited soft drink, but a lemonade is $3.50.- so $18.50.

Now none of these include tax, which adds quite a bit, including 6.5% in the Orlando area.
