Is 7 Days Too Long?

I'll be going from June 4th until the 10th and my aunt was worried that we would get bored on a seven day trip. I don't think we will and I think it will be nice to have relaxation time and time by the pool. Does anybody think that going for seven days is too long and there isn't enough to do?

Seven days is a good number however some posters may say it is not enough time. 10 days is a better number. There is always something to do esp if you want to relax along the way

I totally agree! We just got back from a 12 day vacation and we never got bored. There are so many things to do, in and out of the parks that I think someone could go for a month and still not be able to do absolutely everything WDW has to offer.

That depends on how long it's been since you've gone before. If you were there 6 months ago, that might be too long. If it's been 6 years, then not long enough. It all depends on what you WANT to do. With so much that one can do, can anyone ever really be bored at WDW?

7 days is perfect!! In 10 days we're going for 7. We're doing the 4 parks, the 5th day is enjoying POR and DTD and then late night at MGM and then 2 more days park hopping to ride stuff again. In the summer you will need at least that long.

I think you'd have to stay at Disney a looooong time before you woud ever get bored or run out of things to do! Since having kids we have been there 3 times, each time for a week (and all three trips were in the last 13 months) and we STILL have not done everything we want to do. And each time at the end of the week I was VERY sad that we were leaving and felt like the time flew by. I am curious....has your aunt ever been to Disney?

I agree. Since becoming DVC members we have been 7 times since 2000. We usually go for 5 days, which seems to be comfortable.

Last year we had extended family along who had not been for 5+ years and I know they thought it not enough time.

I always go for 14 days. I find that gives enough time to do everything you want to, but allows time to take it easy and relax when you want.

In my view going for a short time misses some of the point of being able to sit back, relax and watch the world go by. Isn't that part of the point of vacation? If you are spending your short amount of time rushing to do everything, I think that is missing some of the point of going.

I've been enough times that 7 days would be too long, but I live within a reasonable (2&1/2 -3 hrs) driving distance, so I can leave here at 8AM, check into my hotel, and be sitting in a park having lunch by noon.

Most visitors have to deal with long distance travel, and many have jet lag. That tends to slow you down. I'm also used to the heat, humidity, and sun so am not as wiped out after a few hours in the park - but I do take time out of the sun either in my room or in the shade by the pool.

Trust me, a nice shower and a change into fresh, dry, clothes can really recharge the batteries. Just being away from the crowds and noise for an hour or two is rejuvenating.

So for a first time or infrequent visitor, 7 days would not be too much time, especially if you have any intention of seeing anything beyond the 4 parks, such as a water park, Downtown Disney, Boardwalk, miniature golf, etc.

You might want to spring for LaNouba, or maybe a dinner show at one of the resorts. It's also nice to have to to revisit a favorite attraction, or go back to see something that was closed (for a glitch) or too crowded the first time you tried.

No...you won't get bored.
There is SO much to do at WDW!
We went for 7 days last summer & couldn't see everything that we wanted to.
We are going for 9 days this Sept. & our schedule is already full!:)
You will have no trouble w/ things to do.
Are you planning to visit all 4 parks?
Will you be doing any extra activities?
Are you doing any character dinners?
Where are you staying (which resort)?

I usually tell people that 7 days should be a minimum for visiting WDW. We like to do no less than 10 days. 2 of the days are partly lost to travel for us. We like to not go crazy at the parks so we take it easy, see what we want, relax at the resort and visit each park a few times during the stay. We also like to visit the water parks and many of the activities outside the parks. If you get bored than you are not looking hard enough at all the things there are to do.

For me, seven days would be too short. My son and I always do 14 days in the summer and we never get to do everything. But we do find lots to do both in and out of the parks.

And as our together trips must be done in the summer, I always like to schedule enough time for us to have fun at a leisurely pace. Like The Mom, we're used to the heat and humidity and we know not to press our luck by going nonstop during the day. You really should plan some time to slow down and relax, whether inside the park or not.

Have a great time!

Absolutely not especially since you will be there during an extremely busy time of year. If anything you might find that a week is not enough time.

I think that the only that the only time you both might be bored is in the queue (line) for a ride. Take that time to talk, to each other, and those around you. We have met so many nice people waiting in line (or anywhere) at WDW. Just spread the magic of being there.

7 days is perfect. It gives you time to do the things you enjoyed the most a second time. Maybe you can even to stop and enjoy the things that you rushed by while going to your favorite attraction.

I know my next trip I am planning on getting on the Liberty Boat Cruise which I have never done before and exploring Tom Sawyer's Island.

There are so many things to explore. Get a good guide book and highlight away. You won't be bored.

Have fun!:sohappy:

We usually go for 8 nights 9 days and it never seems to be long enough! There are so many things to see and do at Disney. I don't think you will get board. Also, it is nice to be able to take your time and enjoy everything and not have to rush to fit it all in. Try to get some down time in to relax, spend some time at the pool, or just take a nap. Especially in June you are going to want to take a break from the heat. Have fun

I think it all depends on whether or not your party enjoys the "non-park" activities that Disney has to offer. For me and my husband that is not enough time. We were originally scheduled to do our upcoming trip in September for 7 days and then up'd it to 9 when we realized we wanted to do a lot more than time would allow in a week. We are still wishing we had one more day! That is why I mentioned "non-park" activities since 7 days would be enough time if you spent one day in each of the 4parks and water parks if that is what you had in mind.
Our best trip yet was 12 days, the longest we have ever been and we always talk about how great it would be to go for 2 weeks one day. 12 days gave us more than one day at each park, time for boating (water mice)which we love on Seven Seas, dinners at our fav restaurants (we have a lot of favs!), trips to the water parks, Downtown Disney, etc. There is so much to do, I don't think you can be bored even if you went for a full 2 weeks. Plus, if you are like us, it is always nice to have a day or a few afternoons to go swim at the hotel pool or take a nap and relax without rushing.

You may want to ask your aunt what she expects to do on the trip. Her philosophy may be "one park a day, 4 parks equals 4 days, great, we've seen 'everything', now what?" If she knows what else is there to see and do (especially if you're staying on-property, planning to relax at the resort or visit other resorts, hit water parks, DTD/PI, whatever) that might make her re-evaluate her opinion.

And there's always the possibility that your aunt herself might want to revisit one or more parks if she thouroughly enjoyed a particular attraction.
