Is 7 Days Too Long?

I'll be going from June 4th until the 10th and my aunt was worried that we would get bored on a seven day trip. I don't think we will and I think it will be nice to have relaxation time and time by the pool. Does anybody think that going for seven days is too long and there isn't enough to do?

My wife and I have gone several times during the year. We have done a 4, 5,and 7 day trip. If you have already been there more than a few times recently I would say 5 days is perfect. After the 6th day it starts getting tiresome. But if this is your 1st trip I say 7 days is just enough. Without getting tired and not having a relaxing vacation.

You may want to ask your aunt what she expects to do on the trip. Her philosophy may be "one park a day, 4 parks equals 4 days, great, we've seen 'everything', now what?" If she knows what else is there to see and do (especially if you're staying on-property, planning to relax at the resort or visit other resorts, hit water parks, DTD/PI, whatever) that might make her re-evaluate her opinion.

And there's always the possibility that your aunt herself might want to revisit one or more parks if she thouroughly enjoyed a particular attraction.

It's hard to say anything without knowing your background information. How old are you and your Aunt ( actual & at heart). Where you are staying. What your interests are. If you are mobile. Etc.

We average 10 days and still go home saying "we forgot to do _______". We stay on the go also, we are there in the morning when the parks open , stay till around 1or2, go back for a nap and then back to the park at dinner time. We stay till closing which when we go is usually about 10 then do the EMH.

We are staying at Port Orleans, we do plan to visit all four parks. We don't have any extra activities planned as of right now. I think we might have a water park/pleasure island visit left on our old Park Hopper tickets from years ago. I'm 20 and my aunt is 50, and if there's something important to catch, she's always the one to run for it.
I love the dining experience at Disney and really want to take advantage of all the different meal opportunities.
We did the Keys to the Kingdom tour last time (2003) and it was incredible. Where can I find out about the other tours that are available?

Wow, some of you guys stay for a looong time. I guess if you look for it, there is always something to do at Disney!! :p

I think that seven days is great because you really need it just to be able to get anything done and feel like your trip it complete. We went a couple of times and only spent five days and it just was not long enough, even with the hopper pass. Now we try to do at least eight or nine and that is not counting our travel days to and from Orlando from Alabama. I wish that we could stay longer but we try to go during our children's fall break so I can only pull them out of school for a couple of extra days without hurting them in school.

I am getting excited now about our next trip and it's over a year away!

So you're both quite young! Make sure you make your Advance Dining Reservations as soon as you can! The official web site can hook you up to tours, or you can go here:

I agree with the other posters -- if anything seven days isn't LONG enough!
We usually go for 8-10 days and it gives us a good balance of lazy days by the pool mixed with the parks, shopping, dining, etc.

We just recently went on a 5 day trip and we've decided we'll stick with the longer trips. It gives you more time to do everything without rushing around like a crazy person - trying to get everything in. I prefer to vacation in a more laid-back manner and a week-long trip allow you to do that.

Unless your aunt is NUTS (j/k) -- she won't get bored at WDW!!

we just came back from our 7 day 1st trip to disney in february. we decided to skip the last day (since that was the day we had an 11 hour trip back home), the biggest reason is that we were exhausted!!!! we had a 3 year old and 6 year old at the time. did we see everything - NO!!! do we want to do it again - yes, and as a matter of fact we will be going again this september to do it again!!!

7 days it not too long, you will not see everything, but you will be exhausted if you do not take breaks. we stayed off property and tried to take the midday breaks but it was such a hassle to load back up the van to go back to the condo for a nap, once the naps were over we lost a good 5 hours.

this time, we are staying on property for the first time ever.

if i had my way i would go for 365 days a year every year!

I read a quote from someone on these boards that said once you go on property, you won't want to go back off property. Since I'd only stayed off property, I didn't think that held much truth. I changed my mind the first time I stayed on property. For me, it's too true. If you've got young 'uns and want to rest in the afternoons, you'll probably like on property much better.

I think the ideal trip would be 10 days for me - and that's just doing WDW stuff. Our last trip was 7 days and it was very nice, but there were some things we didn't get to do. Thought we took it easy the whole trip and relaxed a bit.

granted we are going to loose the room that we had at the condo, it was 3 bedrooms, but this time we are going to stay at pop and see how that works out. we are packing the air mattresses for the kids to sleep on in the floor, they love doing this. we really want to utlize the pools this time, we didn't get a chance to at the condo because of lack of time.

i would love to stay at a moderate or duluxe resort, but pop is all we can afford this time around, i am having to cut corners just to get hubby to agree to go, free dining won him over!!! plus we will save a lot of money not having to pay for the parking, $10 a day really adds up!

We have gone for 3, 4, 7, 10 days and just never have enough time to do all that we want. Now we typically go for 15 days and during a slow time and this is just enough for us. It is still a heart break leaving, but we'll be back again.

What is amazing is that we go to Universal every other year and we try to make it for 3 full days and just cannot. Yet 15 at Disney is not enough.

On/Off Property

I have done both, with 3 children, then 8,6,15 months. Tried to save a little on the 2nd trip in 2001 NOT WORTH IT! The relax factor, is enough of a reason but there is so many more reasons to stay, and as mentioned parking, travel time to/from Parks and Hotel. Now more then ever gas! To be able to step on a bus and let someone else drive you to your park and then to return your tired rump back to a very cool resort is so nice. Just another GREAT service provided to you by those WOBDERFULLY MAGIC ppl of Disney!:snore:

As I'm sure everyone else has stated 7 days isn't too long. My parents and I went when I was 5,7 then almost every year after that. My aunt would always be amazed that we had stuff to do for that many days and year after year. Three years ago her family went with us and she understood why we went so often and for a week. We are leaving next saturday for another week with them and it's killed her to wait these years for the kids to grow up some.

Everytime we go, it's for no less than 7 days. I think it is perfect. You can enjoy yourself, not having to rush around. You can do everything, take a day off from the parks for the waterparks, a swim at pool and relax. We like to visit some of the other resorts while we are there. We always have more than enough time to do and see every attraction and park. There is so much to fit in, in 7 days.
