Currently sticking with the Droid phone. Apple has the ability and monies to really to do something special with their phones and they seem to do very small and simple upgrades to the I-Phone. The A-6 and 4G-LTE along with a larger sceen should have really happened last year. I am still shocked that they only went up to a 4.0" screen and did not jump to a 4.3" - 4.5". I was hoping for more with the I-Phone 5.
4.5" is way too big, Apple clearly believe they are at the sweet spot of what is hand-holdable - especially notable by the fact they only went higher and not wider. Some of those large screen android phones are ridiculous.

I-Phone is a great product and very reliable, but like you said it is 1 year behind in technology. But, being 1 year behind give them more time to prove their product.

That is how I am looking at it. Next Fall I am betting that they will offer a hoppsed up version like they did for the four. I would rather get that.

It is really a matter of personal choice, which the lack of has always been one of my big beefs with Apple. My daughter's sensei struggled with seeing the screen on his iphone for years. He just recently got a Samsung Note and it was like a whole new world for him. He will be the first to say that is is like holding a brick to his head but he loves the fact that the can actually see his screen without glasses.

There are always accessibility issues where a huge screen will help, but for the majority of people, those large devices are crazy - at least in my opinion LOL.

I got my preorder in last night but struggled to get the Apple or At&t websites to work. Using the apple store app, however, went off without a hitch.

Should (fingers crossed) have them next week...

Yeah I agree the 4.5 is getting a little large. I have a 4.3 and it is not too large to be hand-holdable.

Ironically, I can't watch the video because I'm using an iPad, lol. I can listen, though. :)

I doubt I'll switch to the 5. I kept the 2 until the most recent one. I'll keep this one for a while. A bigger phone is no selling point, as far as I'm concerned.

The Chinese are working on a screen that will fold easily (like a snap) but give us the same picture and durability we now enjoy. It is amazing to me that we will have that one day. I hope i live to see it. That will be nice. :)

To view it on the iPad, head to http://www.apple.com - there is a link to it on the front page.

Me! :) Jumping ship from Android (a Droid X)...I set an alarm to get up and pre-order through Verizon's website. Everything want pretty smoothly and according to my confirmation email the phone should be here by the 21st. :) Super excited to get my first iPhone!

16GB white secured! It was a mess trying to get the preorder done, as I'm just a secondary line on my parents' plan, so I had to go in to the store and get it taken care of. I imagine I missed the launch day cutoff (they didn't know), so that sucks, but I can't wait to get my hands on it!

So if I did my research correctly, to preorder the iPhone5 it starts at $199....I can sell my current iPhone3 on Amazon from $115-$233 comparatively basically getting a new iPhone5 for a super cheap price...Christmas present for myself? :D

use gazelle.com - easy peasy and gives you all the options to opt-out if you need to, etc. Definitively the 'safest' of the buy-back places and still give good $. Plus, get your credit in amazon gift card and they give you their referal bonus.. so 5% more in your credit.

Between my contract not being up until December and I'm trying to see just how long I can go with my current phone before I want to throw it in the Atlantic, I think I'll hold off till at least the summer before I get the 5. Let all the bugs get fixed before I walk into the store and get one.

My electronics buying fund is going to sapped up getting a new laptop anyway this fall.

There really shouldn't be any significant bugs. The iPhone is now a very mature product, and the iOS6 software has been in testing for a long time now. So I wouldn't worry about that.

I didn't pre-order, but I'll be having me one on Friday.
(Trading in my 4 and an old HTC I have around here....the 5 won't be costing me a dime.;) )
