Interim show 'The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic' confirmed to debut ahead of Rivers of Light

We were at AK last night and attended the 9pm Jungle Book show. A lot has been said about the show, but I wanted to comment about our experience with the seating procedure for stand-by guests, which was totally bizarre. See the picture below.

The normal stand-by line for the show is the blue line in DinoLand. We got in line at A at around 7:45pm and at that point Cast Members were already telling us that seating was not guaranteed for the 9pm show. At point B they were temporarily blocking off the path at times to let groups of people (maybe 30 or 40 at a time) walk across to C. At around 8:15pm we got to point B. When it was time for us to start walking again we were expecting to just walk across, but a cast member raised her hand and told us to follow her to the right. Everyone was confused as she led our group through the Finding Nemo theater. We came out of the entrance and were told to wait in the Finding Nemo waiting area at D.

Here we waited for about 15 minutes until another cast member came and told us to follow her. I expected us to cross the path into the seating area there, but no ... we were led across the bridge all the way to E. When we got there there were only a few rows left.

On our two walks following cast members from B to D and from D to E they had blocked off these areas to other guests (approximately at the pink dotted lines on my map), but there were still a few people walking around who could have easily snuck into our group to get into the show without waiting. This does not seem like a very good permanent solution, but I am not sure what else they can do when there are seats left in the FastPass section with still hundreds of stand-by guests waiting in DinoLand.
That's crazy...among other things!
Where they stopped you, were they letting any guests go past to EE? See, I would be one unhappy camper if they didn't let me get to EE just because they can't figure out how to handle a crowd.

At this point RoL is still in development with no timeframe. It's ready when it's ready. Jungle Book can play for as long as needed.

But my guess would be FP would transfer, but I wouldn't bank on it for Juky.
My Family was able to book a dining package for the show in August, which probably means that there isn't plans of opening it over the summer season.

You left off ... Audience participation, multitude of diverse performers including acrobats, singers, stilt walkers, aerailists, huge animatronic props.

I doubt if it was billed as THE night time park show with only 2 showings and just showed Lion King clips on a background with some singers karioking over them that it would be as loved
I didn't leave that off because that's not part of the "story" that the poster was complaining about.

Yes Lion King has many more elements and props going for it which I won't deny. Just the poster was complaining about the lack of story in the show and I was pointing out that the story of the show was pretty similar to FoLK. If it had more elements like FoLK it would be a great show.

First impressions after viewing....

I like the music, but I'm partial to Indian influences.
It's the musical score I like, not nessesarily the re-recorded songs.
I am assuming they are using the musical score from the film?
Really nice...might have to seek out the soundtrack for the 2016 'Jungle Book' if this is the case.

Seemed to take a bit to get things rolling.
Perhaps this was just the intent of the show director, to build up anticipation for what is to come, but the first few minutes of the show had little going on from a audience standpoint to hold your focus.
I can understand from a staging perspective why this slow start was done ( get Cast off the barges and on to the waterbound stages ) but I personally would have added some subtle visual interest going on in the meantime.
Something like slowly changing lights on the floating staging areas.

The projections however did not seem to be working properly ....perhaps this has been discussed here already.
Weather or technical issues, it was faint or just non-existent in sequences you could tell it was meant to enhance or act as a colorful backdrop.
The large 'gap' present where the two sprays met center stage seemed to be off as well.

Would like to see another showing ...with the projections working.
The music is the best part for me at this point.

We have a couple of new pics from last night that illustrate the issues with the water screens.

Viewed from the back, you can clearly see that the 2 large center screens do not meet to complete the semi-circle. This is problem because some of the projection is right in the center.

This shot also shows the two side screens to the far left and right, which are single screens.

Viewed from the front, there is just so much break-up of the screen, that it is very hard to see the image clearly.

These two scenes are about the clearest, and that is mostly because they are just light and shadow.

to resume, they really need a third noozle, either in the center fanning like the front ones in Fantasmic. Or something that throws water right in the center evenly.

No, as far as I could see they had closed off that whole area from the Anandapur Ice Cream truck to Finding Nemo to let our group walk to the far side of the FP section. Our group was really spread out as the CM ahead of us walked pretty fast, but when we reached our destination I could see the barrier there (pink dotted line by E on my map) and there was a huge crowd waiting behind. So that whole north-east part of EE was blocked off.

It seems a pretty big problem having the FP and stand-by sections split like this as I imagine every night they'll have people waiting in DinoLand who need to get to the empty seats in the FP section. Maybe they could better hand out temporary passes to people in line that would give them access to the FP section and have them walk to the other side by themselves.

Such a mess! Cannot imagine them doing that twice every evening.

What section is the FP section?
