Interim show 'The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic' confirmed to debut ahead of Rivers of Light

So, I haven't seen it live, but having watched the videos, my impression is this:
1. They would have been better off calling the show simply "Alive with Magic" and described it as something like "An Indian dance and musical celebration inspired by The Jungle Book". I think they are selling it too much as being based on The Jungle Book which is going to lead to confusion/disappointment.
Alive with Magic is a meaningless buzzword subtitle. Definitely doesn't work solo. You need something that suggests a focus on live music, quickest thing that comes to mind would be something like "Jamming in the Jungle Book".

It begs the question, what have they being for the last 2 years? Surely the water screen jets should have been perfectly aligned for the expected Spring opening of Rivers of Light? Why is that suddenly an issue now?

I understand about the footage being rushed in, but I would expect the hardware platform to be ready to go.

Welcome to the new Disney. Take a look at everything that has happened in this year alone. It seems to all be one big cluster you know what along with expensive cupcake and ice cream parties and price increases everywhere

Disney is great...but if they price things as high as they do...people expect more and hold them to the same high standard as we have in the past....the problem is what we get as of late is not all the same standard

For the jungle book show alone, SO many things done wrong. I honestly believe this show should be run during the day and forget the water jets and lights and just not hold a night time show there...yet until RoL is ready....I mean really ready as in a wow factor.

This show has given AK at night and Disney as a whole one big black eye which now means RoL better be incredible, frozen better be awesome, Pandora better be worth the wait, and the DHS redo better not be on the cheap

I saw the video and other than the water screens needing to be fixed, I loved the show. The music and dancing were entertaining, but then I love everything Bollywood. Actually I wished they would leave out the jungle book part and just emphasize nature, music and dance from the areas of the world that the park represents.

Did anyone else watch the Jungle Book show video and think it looks utterly dull and boring? I even have friends performing in this and am sad to say that I have no interest in actually seeing it. A spectacle? Maybe. Pizzazz and wow factor? Mmm, gonna have to say no.
The show itself has all of the makings of a spectacle on par with Fantasmic, but it doesn't put the pieces together. The pacing is incredible off, the theatre design makes it so you can't see a lot, and as you said, no true "wow" moments. Hopefully they fine tune the show over the coming weeks.

I think that would be best as well... do it during the day... take out the jungle book theme, use more/different types of music and dance represented around AK, not just the indian culture

Yes, I thought it was a snooze fest. After about 10 minutes I thought ok is anything going to happen? and it just kept on going like that for the remaining 15 minutes. I realize its just a replacement until ROL is ready, but they could have mixed it up a bit more than just 25 minutes of the same dancers doing the same thing the whole time.

Hard to believe the difficult-to-see mist screens used in SeaWorld's old Mistify show actually seemed brighter and more visible than these. And that was a decade ago (anyone know why SeaWorld quickly discontinued that show?)

I believe money. Attendance declined = less money for "Free" entertainment. They still have fireworks for major holidays.

Really random, but I just realized that the amphitheater doesn't have a name, not a big deal because it's not like I'd say heading to the "Harambe Amphitheater", I just made this name up, but I thought it was strange since Fantasmic is played in the "Hollywood Hills Amphitheater".

I'd love to know how they came to the conclusion that this snoozefest was a better option than doing NOTHING, until RoL was ready to go.

They could have opened up the seating areas to guests as a place to sit and have a quick bite to eat, drink or just relax as an alternative, and it would have been FANTASTIC compared to "Jungle Book...Wake Me Up When It's Over".

Just got back from watching the jungle book show. I was really excited and booked fast passes early in the morning when they were released... My opinion is its not very good. Fine to see it once, and better than nothing, but no desire to ever see it again. Agree with others that the main middle float makes it hard to see the main singers, and the front stages are pretty worthless as the do the same dances over and over. Also thought the water screens were not clear at all.

I will sorta agree the show does lack in some areas. I was there for the soft opening. But we all NEED to remember this is a limited show. All this show is doing is testing the watering on what Disney should do for future shows, which I look forward to. So just let the show play.
