That it is.

What genius in marketing came up with using the word "limited"?

I see where you're going. They intended a limited period of time. But you could also say limited in scope, limited in variety, limited effects, put together with a limited budget, limited entertainment value. Sigh... I plan on going 10/29-11/4. I hope ROL is playing by then. It better be good.

I will sorta agree the show does lack in some areas. I was there for the soft opening. But we all NEED to remember this is a limited show. All this show is doing is testing the watering on what Disney should do for future shows, which I look forward to. So just let the show play.

Guests have been waiting and waiting for ROL. I realize this show is "limited" but it's just bad. And a bad NEW (temporary) show may just put people off waiting around DAK at night for a show in the future. So I believe it may be doing more harm than good for them if it continues much longer.

For this show it should be labeled "painful" instead
.

I tried to watch it again and just kept skipping the video ahead and I thought the video wasn't advancing but it was. It just looked like the same thing every time I stopped to watch a different part.

I honestly think most people are thinking for the regular guest the way you would for yourself, which is clouding vision.

I don't think most people are actually coming away from the show with as sour an opinion as most of us. Mostly because we expect better. But especially with walking out of the park and seeing the ToL show before exiting. I just think we're overthinking the impact this show will have on the average guest - I doubt this will keep most away going forward.

Compared to the night entertainment at the other 3 parks though? DAK needs all the positive help it can if they want it to be open later. With a bad show, guests are going to simply start heading to the other parks instead.

Honestly, the biggest thing that disappointed me at DAK the night I was there was that literally every ride in the park (as well as JB) except for Dinosaur had to close because of lightning. I don't go to DAK a ton so it was a big eye-opener of how much the park gets impacted during storms and how much the park needs more rides.

I get where you're coming from though.

I'm not sure how many of us expected a top quality production. I don't think it was many. However, what they came up with here is does not seem even close to experience everyone was hoping for with reduced expectations. I personally am glad I didn't waste my time heading over to see JB over this last week, yes, because of the crowds that it is pulling in, but mostly due to the 'dancing'. While I love a well choreographed and executed show such as a ballet, even the videos of JB are bringing tears of boredom to my eyes. The dancers even look bored. Tweaking is too gentle of a word for what needs to be done here. This show is a lullaby.

I hope they're well on their way to fixing the ROL issues.

I cancelled my day at this park for my trip coming up.... Wanted to see the new nighttime shows and experiences but AK is a every other year stop for me and I want to see it all or nothing.

Wrong. I heard several Guests making statements that they wish they had gone to Magic Kingdom or Epcot instead of wasting a night at Animal Kingdom. The show is doing more harm than good.

You must have gone Sunday, too... If so, Night Time Safari was still running (lighting and all) but between those two rides and It's Tough to be a Bug, that was it. Absolutely no other attractions of any sort in operation according to the MDE app.

in it's current state, bad weather at night pretty much closes down the park. They really should start adjusting show schedules to start later in the day and run into the evening for the Lion King and Nemo. With the bird shows and the tiger trail and other things to do, it makes more sense to not have these indoor shows in the morning while people are able to experience all of that and it hasn't yet gotten unbearably hot out, anyway.

I imagine they can't keep the trains to Conservation Station running at night because of disruption to the animals housed in the areas you go by, which is a shame because they have a structure out there. They could do something in the underutilized building to boost evening activity that isn't affected by weather, too.

Shows running later would be nice as I assume a show isn't really a "rope drop" thing. But overall, the park just needs more rides.

no one is debating that. What's being debated is that the current show is doing more harm than it is good.
I think it depends if you waste time seeing the show or not. If you go to the park at night and do everything but the show, you likely had a great night. If you waste your time for that show, then yeah. I don't even think it's the show in general as much as "We waited an hour and a half FOR THIS?"

Agreed - specifically, indoor rides not affected by weather. Hopefully Pandora will be enough.

Yeah, I too think this is the problem. If this were considered to be part of the current night time entertainment options like they're supposed to have in the hub and Africa (missed, due to bad weather on my visit), I don't think people would be it so much. It's because people are talking about it like it should be a major evening spectacle like the other parks have, that I think is killing it.

For us on the forum, that's due to anticipation over a show we've been reading updates on for years which isn't ready yet.

For average guests, that may be for people who thought they were arriving after the opening of the major evening spectacle which was supposed to be where this is.

Maybe Disney shouldn't have really announced anything about this at all and just started doing it without fastpass?.. But then again, their previous message about details for a start date of ROL that they promised for late May never happened so maybe the promotion of this was intended to distract everyone from them not having any updates?

Doubtful. 9 minutes of actual new ride time. It's a start but not enough.
9 minutes of new ride time but likely 2-4 hours in total of mostly indoor (If they have any mercy) queue for everyone who doesn't book fastpasses 66 days in advance! Sounds like they might have their evenings covered to me. ;)
