Rumor Inside Out to Replace Journey into Imagination with Figment?

The problem is often that they misinterprete the results of their surveys. Not that they skew the questions.

I wouldn't necessarily say that...as a former survey statistician (Yeah...its exciting...) its entirely likely the surveys are used in conjunction with boatloads of other data to come to a decision. Its likely the surveys are saying one thing, but the spending of guests say another thing. Its also possible that surveys are saying something, but they are also saying there is more desire to move in a different direction.

You cant just assume that surveys exist in a vacuum. They are a data point in a huge array of information that Disney collects better than anybody else in the world.

You didn't think those wrist bands, touchpoints and long range magic band communications exist as a convenience, did you? They are a near step by step tracking of every ride you go on. How much time you wait in lines, how much time it takes you to eat, what times you return to your rooms, how much time you spend on rides, etc...Although I cant confirm it, I wouldn't doubt the long range capabilities of the bands to track how much time people spend in stores and other public areas.

I doubt its all personalized, but its definitely rolled up at the population levels and they can see when surveys, perceptions and reality are connected and start drifting from each other.

Another little Jim Hill anecdote from his podcast: the fate of the Imagination pavilion will be dealt with post 50th anniversary and Inside Out is still *somewhat* under consideration. He mentioned that they don't know to what capacity they will use the IP: a take over of the dark ride or making a 3D film.
As long as we get something good out of it, I'll likely be way more forgiving at this point. The Eisner era was a total embarrassment considering how low Disney's reputation was in the 2000s (or naughts, either way). Repeating that would be such a stupid mistake.

I still do not undestand all the hate for Imagination. I struggle to understand what is so terrible about it. My girls think its cute, and the original version everybody always references was a little overrated, and partly terrifying to me as a child. With all the other disasters at Epcot, Imagination is the least of my concerns. And yes, Imagination is better than Ratatouille, that ride is terrible.

There is hype over a 60 second coaster coming to Hollywood Studios. I can ride a coster within an hour from my house. But there is nothing like Imagination at any other park, for what it is.

As long as it isn't at the disposal of Figment as the star of his own attraction, I'm cool with it.

I don't hate the ride either, but the pavilion itself is a disaster.

The original Imageworks is superior to the current babish version.

Some attractions have stood the test of time while Journey Into Imagination with Figment continues to be a disaster. The Dreamfinder and Figment can now retire to the nostalgia hall of fame.

Disney would be wise to realize the popularity and potential of a little purple dragon, and return him to his original inquisitive and fun incarnation, not the annoying one that's been around since the original JII was shuttered. And not just around event merchandise, like they are want to do. There appears to be plenty of demand for Dreamfinder and Figment, but some are just ignorant to that.

Completely agree. If the comics are any indication, there's a clear love and care for the original Figment. One who's a little snarky and curious but cares about his friends and is so genuinely sweet at times. If those comics don't tell Disney the fans care about him, then I don't know what will. Merchandise is one thing but you need a great personality to support the idea of actually buying his stuff (even if his merch is pretty cool at times) and 3.0 Figment just doesn't have that. The comics are currently the only redeeming thing about Figment that still exists right now.

Imagine JIYI being part of your first trip to Disney World after some occasional encounters with the character in souvenirs at your cousin's house or reading about the original in stuff like a 1996 Birnbaum's Guide, the local library's copy of that 1982 Making of Epcot book, and an 80s-era Epcot map your parents saved in a scrapbook from a trip years before you were born, which you looked into because WDW Inside Out really got you intrigued by the idea of the Disney Parks. Like you see all this stuff about a fun ride with a cool dragon, but you end up greeted by a Condescending Middle-Aged British Man who tells you that you suck. And then you discover what that thing you were denied looked like in the form of some RealMedia video you find on the internet shortly after the damage control version that gave Figment the voice of your favorite Muppet opened.

Because that's my story.
The saddest thing is I like Gonzo. He's my favorite Muppet next to Fozzie and Kermit. I don't even know how you could waste the talent of Dave Goelz and Eric Idle! Absolutely awful and to top it all off, imagine watching this stupid ride in 4K on YouTube. THIS AWFUL RIDE IS IN 4K ON YOUTUBE AND NOT THE ORIGINAL!

but just because there is nothing else like it, doesn't make it good. has Ratatouille opened up at Epcot or did you ride it else where?

Imagination is one of those things we do while we wait for someone to use the bathroom. now I admit, I have testosterone hyped boys. Even little Figment was not their type of character. Batman and Robin? yes. Xmen Yes. Figment?? not even close.
They enjoyed "honey I shrunk the kids" show when it was there.

Rat is a fine C/D ticket ride. Its a great at accomplishing what it sets out to do. If you are expecting a ToT level ride, then you are in for disappointment. Its a fine ride, just don't get your hopes up thinking its a superheadliner.

I was just asking becauseI was just at Epcot 2 weeks ago and I didn't see it. Thought i missed a soft opening.
What is a c/d ride? LOL I've been a Disney regular for 10 years and I swear I still don't know 1/2 of this stuff.
