Wow so Splash AND Indy down simultaneously for 3-5 months. Of course with MMRR opening it’s really only a loss of one E ticket operationally. Genie + loses some value though as you lose 2 big attractions, already have Roger down and MMRR will be an individual Lightning lane
In fairness, we don't yet know when Splash is closing.

Although it's unlikely, there's a possibility they might delay the closure until after Indy is fixed.

I just found out about Indy’s extended closure recently. Before that, conventional wisdom and rumors said Splash was closing in January/ February. In lieu of the Indy news, I would have thought they’d hold off on closing Splash until Indy reopens. However, @GiveMeTheMusic recently said that Disney will be announcing Splash’s closing date soon.

I really wouldn’t call MMRR an E ticket. I’d call it a solid D, fun and worth experiencing, but not exactly Imagineering’s best work. It’s a perfect addition to Toontown, and an overall nice addition to DL. Then again, at least everything on it should be functioning. Yay for that!

I'm an Indiana Jones shill. Even with the broken effects, it's still my favorite ride in the park. Could it be better? Yes, and I hope they fix it, especially the boulder, but I still love it anyway. As long as the music plays and the cars jerk you around over a pit of lava, it's a great ride.
I recently visited Animal Kingdom for the first time and found myself feeling much the same way about Dinosaur. I expected to dislike it, (and it certainly isn’t as good as Indy), and each of my three rides on it featured many non-functioning effects and/or AAs… But I LOVED it in spite of that. Vehicles lunging and bucking through the dark with an occasional glimpse of some really cheesy-looking Dinos— It was fun as heck. And the infamous “They’re not gonna make it!!!” finale was so ridiculously entertaining that it almost made up for all the earlier broken effects.

It’s no Indy, but it sure made me laugh and smile.

I’ve only watched videos but I think it’s safe to say it’s not imagineering’s best work. With that said it looks decent/ fun and I think just based off scope and scale alone you have to call it an E. I mean, isn’t Star Tours considered a D?

How much damage could they do to Indy in 3-5 months?

Remove physical walls in ball room for projections
Replace fire with smoke lights
Replace snake with glowing Dial of Destiny
Replace rat projection with time travel warp effect.
Replace Indy with Helena in preshow - Indy is lost in Temple! Send in Helena and us to find him!
Replace all Indy AA with Helena AAs
Replace sign at end - Choose wisely - Disney+ logo

While I wouldn't mind a replacement of the snake and the rats as they don't work regularly and Helena being involved doesn't upset me, especially if it means we get a fixed pre-show, I don't see Disney investing in the project until they know its profitable. Disney knows fans are fickle and while the movie will likely be a financial success due to curiosity and new blood, its unknown how beloved it will be.

Star Tours was considered an E when it first opened. It was a massive hit; the line went half way down Main Street that summer. These days, I‘d say it’s a D.

My personal feeling about MMRR (based on riding the WDW version) is that, while It was quite fun, it didn’t leave me ”wowed“ or greatly impressed. It’s mostly projections, but it’s not thrilling and breathtaking like Soarin’. It’s gentle, cute, and, despite the building size, rather short. I think the trackless vehicles hinder the ride’s design more than they add anything, resulting in a massive feeling of wasted spaces and a very real problem: if your car is the first or last in line to enter or leave a scene, you genuinely miss out on content other riders are getting. I think it’s one of the worst ride design flaws in Imagineering history, and I realy hope they‘ve addressed that for DL’s version.

Again, it’s a really fun ride. But Roger, right next door at DL, is more fun and takes up a fraction of the space by using the space brilliantly.

Agree with most of your post and I’m reminded how subjective the whole E ticket conversation is. I also believe that ticket classification can change over the years. Like you said, Star Tours was considered an E ticket in the 80s. A lot changes in 30 years. Still think if Star Tours, TSMM, Smugglers Run and Webslingers are D tickets you have to call MMRR an E ticket.

It's an e in my opinion. And one I enjoyed very much.

It’s definitely an E ticket on paper. Whether it’s executed well is up for debate. I’m looking forward to riding it in January for the first time. I’ll be there on opening day. Unless it’s virtual queue only and I don’t get a boarding group.

As far as I'm concerned, anything with the weird Mickey style and homeless Goofy can't be higher than D.

I think its a unique ride. They did a very good job of incorporating screens with changing physical sets.
