Indeed. Catalogued when you said it. Don't know why some people are surprised to hear it brought up by another site. ;)

So no Indy water ride but the stunt show stays (in some form)?

Edit: I reread @MisterPenguin's rumor tracker and there could be a new Indy ride that isn't based on Shanghai Pirates, so that must be what is coming to DHS (eventually).

For now. On a daily roll of 5-11 on four six-sided dice, they change their minds. A roll of 4 or 24 is a budget cut.

Pipe dream here....but wouldn’t it be great if...replace Dinoland USA with An India land, featuring the Jungle Book boat ride, and retheme the existing Dinosaur ride to INDIA-na (see what I did there) Jones and the Temple of Doom, which just so happens to take place in....wait for it....India. (Knowing the children shacked and getting whipped in a cave, drinking blood and tearing out someone’s heart through their chest probably wouldn’t be on the table).

India is part of Asia....

Agreed. Why would you build an entire pavilion for a ride that would fit FAR better in a different park? Plus, that other park could actually use some IP-driven rides.
Because India at Epcot would be about meeting Indians to learn about Indian culture? Asia at DAK is about meeting real and/or broken mythical animals from Nepal and India. Despite Joe Rohde’s 213 research trips, it’s not truly a cultural awakening.

How is the one Indian dish at Yak & Yeti, Chicken Tikka Masala?

I agree, btw. I guess it's because I've always thought of India more in terms of the southern plains than the mountainous northern border states. I also agree that DAK thematically focuses on the animals, not the people.

I also wouldn't want to rule out Indonesia or any country in Africa due to overlap.

Yeah, the idea that they couldn’t “do” Africa because of DAK never sat well with me. Quite a few cultures in there to ignore. But let’s add another European nation, please!

It seems to me that, if the rumor is accurate, they’re making India to have the Jungle Book ride, which would fit better at DAK. An India pavilion would be great, but that rides fits so much better in DAK that it bothers me. Jungle Book having little to do with India besides the animals makes it seem like a poor choice for a World Showcase attraction, too.

Yeah, I'd love it if Disney could figure out a way to turn World Showcase into the theme park incarnation of Parts Unknown. Or maybe create a new land in the park with smaller incarnations of each country, reducing the capital expense and allowing for 20-50 cities/countries, each with one shop and one restaurant. Maybe in Disney Springs? Not practical but I'd love it!

Myanmar - Koreatown, LA - Columbia - Quebec - Morocco - Libya - Peru - Congo - Jerusalem - Spain - New Mexico - Copenhagen - Sicily - South Africa - Tokyo - Detroit - Punjab - Las Vegas - Lyon - Mexico City - Russia - Mississippi Delta - Thailand - Bahia, Brazil - Shanghai - The Bronx - Paraguay - Vietnam - Tanzania - Iran - Massachusetts - Jamaica - Korea - Miami - Scotland - Madagascar - New Jersey - Budapest - Hawaii - Beirut - Cuba - Marseille, France - Okinawa, Japan - Bay Area - Ethiopia - Borneo - Istanbul - Charleston, SC - Manilla, Philippines - Chicago - The Greek Islands - Montana - Tblisi, Georgia - Senegal - Cologne, Germany - Hanoi - Nashville - Sichuan - Londong - Houston - Japan - Buenos Aires - Minas Gerais, Brazil - Rome - Los Angeles - San Sebastian - Laos - Queens - Antarctica - Oman - Trinidad - Porto, Portugal - Singapore - French Alps - Lagos, Nigeria - Pittsburgh - Sri Lanka - Puerto Rico - Seattle - Southern Italy - West Virginia - Uruguay - Newfoundland - Armenia - Hong Kong - Berlin - Cajun Mardi Gras - Bhutan - Kenya - Asturias, Spain - Indonesia - Far West Texas - Lower East Side

India is a very good pick for a Pavilion, but the IP mentioned is a terrible fit for World Showcase. Jungle Book is under wildlife and belong in Asia part of AK instead like others mentioned. India as a Pavilion is a great pick considering the history of the country and its food is well known.

I really hope Brazil happens at World Showcase also.

Kalimaaaaa (the stuff of nightmares for me as a kid)

Would the cool-headed monkey drinks offered at Jock’s be on the menu?

There is so much variety of food and architecture between regions of India. It could easily translate to a Pavillion. And lights, for Diwali could be beautiful.

I am blessed to have Indian cuisine locally (Central NJ). But I cannot be the only one who finds it very odd that the Asia section of AK is themed to India but the quick service basically serves Americanized Chinese food. Yak and Yeti is a better fit, because is like a "greatest hits" of food from a variety of Asian countries.

I recall an attempt of an Indian dance party near the Rapids at AK, but I believe they were hoping for more audience participation. Americans can be a little "stiff" when it comes to trying new (or any) dances. A stage show would work better. A dinner show like the Luau with the cultural interpretation of the dances or even just music like Germany would be fantastic.

We have gone to Sanaa for lunch or an early dinner as the view is better in daylight. But unless one is staying at Kidani or Jambo, it really is out of the way. If you do find yourself staying at Kidani, Sanaa offers a free culinary tour which was a lot of fun.
