Y'all need to put the Pixie Dust pipes and Figment plush down and take a good long and hard look at the guys who have been tapped for new EPCOT positions before jumping to conclusions about a BOLD NEW DAY in the EPCOT ADVENTURE.

Oh, I can see the Epcot future through their eyes...

I have no illusions that a re-worked Soarin' or TT will still pull better numbers than Imagination but a re-boot couldn't hurt. And even a limited draw better than now could help with FP+ around the park.

Second, I'm getting better with acronyms but HISTA?

"Disney is poised to begin a major re-Imagineering of Epcot, looking to restore the original intent of the park in both Future World and World Showcase."

This is the part which is giving everyone hope. Indeed, I hope it is a positive sign; At the very least, there are signs of intelligent life within Disney where Epcot Center is concerned, and that fact alone is a major change.

I don't know I've ever seen that particular picture of Horizons before - and I never want to see it again...

I'm sure that there is desire in WDI. There HAS to be. If some nobody like me has a passion for that park, you'd have to think that the creative folks that found a way to work at Disney would share some of that passion. Now if we can just get the bean-counters to share that desire, we'll be in business!

This is key. Even if the desire and intent to revamp Epcot as originally conceived is sincere, Disney has a poor track record when it comes to actually funding things. All the plans in the world mean nothing if they don't stand a realistic chance of getting built. Again, I so want to be hopeful, but more substantial changes will be required before it means very much.

I just wouldn't. A lot of PR spin going on ... a dizzying amount, really.

That's what we're afraid of, much as we would all love to have reason for hope. Actually, the phrase "BOLD NEW DAY in the EPCOT ADVENTURE" makes me nervous (recalling the mercifully stillborn Project Gemini).

A lil optimism isn't a bad thing. ;) This is a good move. Any attention given to Epcot is a good move and will take a while, but this in particular is a good move.

After spending two decades destroying the place, with a short time out for the wonderful Y2K celebration (otherwise known as 'George K's First Golden Ticket To the Bigtime of P&R' , I just can't believe things are actually going to get better. I need to see proof.

I've been jerked around by too many people, too many plans that went nowhere etc ... it has become very obvious that TDO (and likely Burbank) view the park as the actual WDW successor to Pleasure Island minus the clubs but with more dining, more drinking and more retail.

I see no one with passion and vision that says 'Future World needs to be more than a few semi-thrill rides thrown in with toons, attractions no one goes on and the one traditional EPCOT Center ride that they desperately wanted to rip out (wasn't Fitz part of that?) for a 90 second thrill ride in the geosphere.

When I see WoL replaced and Imagination ... well ... reimagined ... and something done to Ellen's 1990s Adventure ... and a NEW lagoon show that isn't a sad reminder of how terrible things turned when the 20th century became the 21st ... well, then I'll believe they have some clue.

Until then, I'll just get ready for when they start the Food and Wine Fest on Labor Day Weekend (it's already been thrown around for next year).
