Imagineer Tom Fitzgerald takes over the creative direction of Epcot

The Epcot Manifesto
Y'all need to put the Pixie Dust pipes and Figment plush down and take a good long and hard look at the guys who have been tapped for new EPCOT positions before jumping to conclusions about a BOLD NEW DAY in the EPCOT ADVENTURE.

I just wouldn't. A lot of PR spin going on ... a dizzying amount, really.
If you look through here, there is plenty of skepticism. Most folks want something to happen, but there is a whole lot of people concerned that it'll amount to nothing. I'm of the "show me the (budget) money" variety.
I want to be optimistic, I'm just not there yet.

My optimism was based on Artico's postings. I'm skeptical to a degree, especially considering TDO and learning how they operate, and Fitzgerald's track record isn't very impressive (but to each their own) but nothing wrong with some hope.

I don't think anyone (in their right mind) should really expect miracles to happen over this, but unless you know what's planned, we don't really know what he'll do, right? We can base it on the past, or how he acts behind the scenes, but I can't see anything wrong with hoping he could be different with Epcot, so time will tell what he does (if anything!)

Or this move was just to keep him busy and out of the way and he'll do nothing.

That's why I keep asking 'what's the plan with the god-awful paint scheme' because it's like there ISN'T a plan. Maybe there will be. I do think screens will be prevelant, whether we like it or not. Depends how they use them, I suppose. Doesn't the new Ratatouille attraction they had him boast about include screens, or am I wrong? I can't remember. How much involvement did he have in that? Asking so I can have a better opinion on the man.

I question how good the changes of Epcot is going to be because of TDO's reputation being tight in money for attractions and Tom isn't high on my list. The other issue is the person was charge of Transportation is now in charge of Epcot. There was some problems with transportation to put it mildly.

Tom is the person who originally screwed up imagination and is what we call a political monster for getting a rid of people that are better than he is.

well that pretty much sums it up then I guess, its all just a load of fake pixie dust and shuffling. but lets see what happens if anything. theres def a yin yang going on here with regulars opinions on this change: good, bad, good, bad. etc.

I may have missed it, but what's the difference between this figment and the one everyone loves?
You need to youtube the original ride and then you will know where I am coming from. Thank you for reading my posts as I appreciate it. I just really miss the original EPCOT and her rides.
