One of the gratest experiences in the world is walking out of Epcot after Reflections of Earth and hearing Tapestry of Nations play. It's very inspirational and moving. I would hate to lose that feeling at Epcot.

You know, thats something I've never really thought about. Since my first trip to Epcot was in 2000, the only fireworks/music I've known from there is RoE and ToN. When I think of Epcot, I think of RoE and leaving the park hearing "We Go On." It certainly does makes for a very inspirational and moving exit, and I really can't imagine Epcot without RoE and everything that goes with it... :(

Actually, the piece you hear *after* RoE is "Promise" (usually followed by Tapestry of Nations, except during the holiday season). "We Go On" is the music used in the final act of Reflections of Earth. We Go On and Promise are essentially the same song, but different lyrics and arrangement.

"Promise" is also great for a wedding song.

Just got some official news off the Epcot wire (friend at corporate there in Florida). They got an email this morning saying the globe will be removed from the show for refurbishment beginning August 21, Thursday. It will return in mid-September...no definite date on its return. This one is official guys! :)

Thanks!

Anyone have time to run down to EPCOT Tomorrow night and see if EPCOT changed ROE at all from 2-27-08?

You know what we need more of at Epcot World Showcase?!?! More Restaurants and shopping experiences, there for we need to just remove the globe and entire lagoon.

A t-shirt shop! The world's largest one, right where the lagoon used to be. Make your own t-shirts! There's never been one of those before.

Yep. "We Go On" is in 3/4, "Promise" is in 4/4. The chorus is the same for both (except the meter change). The verses are different in lyric and melody.

No Globe hate-Just want it to look better.Love the Globe.:D

I understand that, there's plenty of people who want to want to see the globe refurbed, but it also seems like there are quite a few who think the IllumiNations would be better without it. This completely befuddles me. Are they just looking for instant gratification with the fireworks? Do they not grasp the concept of representing the relatively quiet period of Earth's history while life slowly came into being and evolve?

I strongly believe that the vast majority of guests who see RoE have absolutely no idea of the story it is telling. They therefore see the show as lights, a fire, a globe showing abtract images, and fireworks. Out of those elements, the part they like best are the fireworks, and the other parts, that help tell the story, are irrelevent to them.
