Whether you say "on hold" or "cancelled" or "delayed", it still seems like that's horrible news for DHS and all the big makeover plans of the last two years.
Indeed.

Fast Track the MI Coaster. That would be something. It's planned. Ready. Wouldn't use land earmarked for anything else. It's marketable. And could be up before end of next year.

Just actually spend some of the profits on the park.

The studio needs a family attraction to take away lines from Toy Story Mania. I would prefer a clone of Rataoullie or Monsters Inc ride and seek from overseas than another coaster.

The MI Coaster would certainly help with TSMMs lines, but that's a deeper issue regarding park and ride capacity in general and that TSMM wasn't designed for FP. Let alone FP+.

Ride and Seek is seem as too similar to Midway Mania and Rats too expensive.

The fact that the Monster's Inc Coaster (or really any new ride) hasn't been built in DHS since 2008 is downright laughable. The fact that expansion at the Animal Kingdom is now planned to open 15 years after the original plan for the Beastly Kingdom expansion is appalling.

Well they did build Asia, though.
Wasn't Asia supposed to come after Beastlie Kingdommme?

No, there were various time frames for Beastly Kingdom, but as far as I know they were all after Asia/Tiger River Run. The park opened with Flights of Wonder, and then the opening day park maps said the expansion was coming, "Additional Asia adventures will open in early 1999". I'm re-reading the making of the Animal Kingdom book, and I vaguely remember a mention of Beastly Kingdom in that, but it wasn't on the park map.

Hm. That puts the timetable awfully close together, though, assuming it's true that the designers of the expansion took their ideas to Universal in time for them to be incorporated into Merlinwood.

What do you think the chances of Disney announcing this expansion around the time of Potter phase 2 opens in Universal?

Not likely at all, avatar is next, star wars is a loooong way off. Wasting billions will tend to negatively effect progress.

Exceedingly low.
Then again, I would say that the liklihood of their actually sticking with the rumored plans to build this expansion are low too.

I guess they could announce the attraction lineup for Avatar, I would think that would have to be pretty firm by that point.

Os there never any mention of Crush? Either to tie in with the upcoming Finding Dollars, erm Dory, or with another theme?

Such a fun ride. Even if Crush has atrocious capacity itself, yes.

That could work, but I don't think Disney is going to be spending money on anything soon at least until avatar land is good and done. Man I just want to see plans for the door coaster, the monsters IP is very popular I don't know why this thing hasn't ever been done yet. Does anyone know if its been canned for good at DCA?

Yeah, putting the door coaster in Soundstage 1 for where it was originally planned is beyond obvious as a next move for WDW.
