Trip Report I Will Survive.....Spring Break (with a hint of May) *COMPLETED*

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live among the Spring Break crowds
But then I spent so many nights thinking how I could be wrong
And I grew strong
And I knew I could get along....

Well that’s what I’m hoping for anyway. I’m not a newbie when it comes to navigating Spring Break at WDW. I’ve got a couple decades of experience under my belt. “Spring Break” isn’t a single week of cray cray crowds (like the week between Christmas and New Years) but is spread over March and April. Unfortunately one (or more) of those weeks can end up being cray cray....and these days, there is no way to predict which one.

Please don’t let it be this week.

But we are prepared. ADRs at 180 days. FPs at 60 days. Clothing for rain or shine. (Praying for shine ~ we’ve had enough rain over the last 4 months to set an ark afloat.) And attitudes willing to “go with the flow.” 🐢

My goal is to keep the updates live. Should I fail? There’s always Part “Tu”.

Who: Tuvalu, Woody and Em (the teacher whose schedule dictates when we go)
When: Sunday, March 31 - Sunday, April 7, 2019
Where: Port Orleans French Quarter
Why: Let’s hope we don’t ask ourselves this!
How: We’ve done the plane, can’t take the train....so it must be the automobile!

Will we be smiling at the end of the week? Stay tuned.

And if you don’t hang around for the smiles, you may want to peek in and see if there are any WDWMagic meet ups. I know of at least three forum friends I hope to encounter.

Now it’s off to bed! The alarm is set for zero-dark-thirty.

WHY DID WE FLY??!!??

At MCO. Our flight has now been delayed almost 3 hours past original scheduled departure. :arghh:

Next visit is a road trip, baby!
That is a big reason we always drive. Years ago when we lived in mid town we flew to Orlando and had a 7 am flight. We left our apartment around 445 am to allow for enough time and with a few slight delays and Magical Express taking longer than normal, we arrived at our resort around noon. We have driven ever since.

There’s a carving station with ham. A create-your-own omelette station (chef cooks but you select your ingredients). A hot Mickey waffle station. A bar with cold cereals and fresh pastries. Create-your-own oatmeal and a yogurt parfait station. Red velvet pancakes. French toast. Fresh fruit. Cheesy potato casserole. Plus the usual eggs, bacon, sausage.
Do they also have the strawberry soup at breakfast? We have ADRs there for both breakfast and dinner, so I'll get strawberry soup, regardless, but I wouldn't mind having it at both meals!

Lived in FL in the 80s. Would consider a move back if our family wasn’t nearby here in GA.

We always drove in the 80s, 90s and up to the mid 00s....when we no longer had to purchase airfare for our kids. :joyfull: Flying to WDW was then a novelty for me. It has taken a few years, but it is safe to say the novelty has worn off!

I'm going to guess that you will be driving next time!
Yep!

May your next trip have far less bugs and no flight delays!
There will be no flight delays next trip 😉and I am hopeful for NO BUGS!

What a fun little trip for you and Woody! Thanks for sharing (as always)! :)
Awesome trip report! It definltey helped me feed my WDW fix until DW and I get there in August!
Thank you so much for letting us tag along! Some of us can only travel to Disney once in a blue moon, so we live vicariously through all of these trip reports!
Great report
Another great report! Love reading your trips!
Thank you all for your support! 💛

I had a “@Tuvalu moment” at the grocery store on Sunday. Lady in front of me told the cashier not to bag a large bunch of grapes because she was going to put them in her handbag. This gave a whole new meaning to your “purse grapes.” It was very hard not to laugh 😂.
Hilarious! Thanks for sharing that with me! 👜🍇

I wish you had played the Percy Sledge version instead of the Michael Bolton version (in my head.)
Always Percy Sledge. NEVER Michael Bolton. :hungover:

Thank you for taking us along with you.
I'll join with many others in waiting for the next one! :geek:
Great report as usual! Sorry about the flight home. I can't wait to see what your next adventure has in store for you!
I appreciate both of you following along!

Enjoyable as always! Can't wait to see what your next adventure holds.
As I yours....you will share on your girls trip, I hope?! 🤞🏻
